Following in Margot’s footsteps? Cameron Robbie hints at plans to join the cast of Home and Away… as Neighbours comes to an end

He’s the younger brother of Margot Robbie, a Hollywood A-lister who made his broadcast debut last year on Neighbours.

On Sunday, the 26-year-old actor said that once filming on the show concludes in June, he is exploring a move to rival serial Home and Away.

‘Of course, I’d want to keep working in Australian cinema and television,’ he said at the launch of Beast and Co restaurant to The Sydney Morning Herald.

Cameron first appeared on Neighbours in March of last year, playing lifeguard Jesse Porter.

Margot, on the other hand, played Donna Freedman in Neighbours from 2008 to 2011.

Cameron isn’t the only actor from Ramsay Street to make the switch to Summer Bay.

Before joining the cast of Home and Away, Guy Pearce, Harley Bonner, and Ashleigh Brewer all starred in Neighbours.

It comes after Cameron acknowledged that leaning on Margot for job guidance is ‘comforting.’

‘Margot, like many of my business buddies or go-to professionals, says the same thing of working hard, training hard, being kind, thankful, and enjoying the experience,’ he told RadioTimes.com in July of last year.

‘It’s always reassuring to know that she’s only a phone call away if I ever need her.’

Cameron spoke highly of his bond with his older sister in a June 2018 interview with OK! Australia.

‘We text all the time, and I get to see her on the down low a lot, which is good. If no one knows she’s here!’ he said.

‘She’s always been a great big sister to me, and we enjoy having a nice time together.’ ‘I’m very pleased with her.’
