Following the character’s unexpected arrival, Chloe Anderson of Home and Away will meet her long-lost father Matthew.
Viewers learned just a few days ago that Chloe (Sam Barrett) was born after Mia (Anna Samson) was sexually assaulted by Matthew (James Sweeny).
Mia abandoned him soon after the attack and relocated to Summer Bay. She was shocked, however, when he arrived in town and demanded that she introduce him to the daughter he never had.
While Mia and Ari Parata (Rob Kipa-Williams) protested his demands, a new trailer for the show that will air in Australia next week suggests that he ignores their pleas and approaches Chloe directly.
Matthew overhears someone shouting Chloe’s name on the docks in the short trailer, and decides to follow her back to work.
As the two begin to converse, he admits, “I’m actually here to see my daughter.”
“Oh, that’s wonderful; I’m sure she’ll like that,” says the narrator. “The daughter I’m visiting… it’s you,” Matthew says. Chloe responds with a smile.
Chloe is stunned by the news, and she vents her rage on her mother, yelling, “You’re the one who kept him from me!”
Mia urges, “You don’t know him like I do.”
In a later scene, Ari threatens Matthew, saying, “You stay away from my family.” “Do you have a family?” Matthew retaliates with a sneer.
