As he battles brain cancer for the second time, Home and Away actor Johnny Ruffo provided an update with his followers.
The 32-year-old soap actor has been sharing his chemotherapy journey on Instagram.
He decided to check in with his social media fans while on a picturesque stroll with his fiancée Tahnee, stating that he is ‘doing fine’ but ‘exhausted’ after several hospital trips.
‘It’s a great day for a stroll, ??☀️’ he remarked. I just wanted to post a little update…
‘I’m still going strong with my chemotherapy treatment, but I’m weary. Otherwise, I’m doing fine and won’t give up the battle ?? Thank you very much for your help!!’
During their visit, Johnny, dressed in a black cap and sweater, uploaded a photo with his girlfriend, whom he has been seeing since 2015, and the duo appeared calm and happy as they took in some nature.
From 2013 until 2016, the actor portrayed Chris Harrington in the Australian soap opera. Since 2020, he has also played Owen Campbell on Neighbours.
In August 2017, Johnny underwent surgery to remove a brain tumour that doctors found by chance when he was in the hospital for a migraine.
The actor endured chemotherapy and radiation after his operation.
In a May 2019 interview, he stated that he was cancer-free.
In November 2020, Johnny said that his cancer had returned “after an unexpected week of convulsions and terrible headaches.”
‘After an unexpected week of seizures and painful headaches, it is with a sad heart that I have to let you know that my brain cancer has returned, and I now have another major struggle ahead of me,’ he wrote in a post on social media.
‘Though I will dig deep and overcome this sh*t sickness again,’ Johnny promised followers, adding the hashtag ‘F**k cancer.’
The celebrity highlighted the significance of having a solid support network of people around him during such a difficult time in an appearance on Australia’s The Morning Show regarding his illness.
‘It’s about having a support group around you and not being scared to ask for help,’ Johnny explained. It’s not only about my cancer experience; everyone goes through something difficult that they may feel they can’t handle on their own.’
‘There’s always someone to support you when you go through these situations,’ he insisted.
