The beloved identical twins Christina and Caroline Alessi from Neighbours have completely changed since their days on the serial opera.
The Australian soap that brought Gayle and Gillian Blakeney prominence in the 1990s is now 57 years old. Over the years, the twins experienced their fair share of dramatic plotlines with theatrical introductions.
The twins were placed under witness protection shortly after relocating to Ramsay Street after witnessing an explosive murder. They even capitalised on the fact that they were identical twins by acting like the same person.
Before Paul Robinson, the neighbourhood bad guy, discovered them, Christina and Caroline assumed the identity of Linda Giles. They also got embroiled in a number of romantic relationships, with Christina marrying Paul and Caroline leaving the area after falling for his charm.
In 1992, Gayle and Gillian left the Australian soap opera at various points. They came back for three episodes in 2019 before permanently quitting acting.
The Twins, a band the sisters formed after leaving Neighbours, put out three songs: All Mixed Up, Mad If Ya Don’t, and Wanna Be Your Lover. They made the decision to leave Australia and relocate to California.
Gayle and Gillian both reside in the US with their spouses and kids. They even got pregnant at the same time and gave birth to their children just a few weeks apart.
While Gayle went on to have twins of her own, Gillian has a son named Jack and a daughter named Stella. Both of them have significantly changed from their soap opera days.
In a Facebook video posted in 2018, they were both dressed to kill for their friend’s birthday. Gayle and Gillian both opted for centre parts and soft waves, keeping their hair identical.
The former actors chose pink lips and smokey eyes for their glam cosmetic looks. A wink and the words “Me and my wombmate” were written by Gillian.
Gillian and Gayle appeared on Loose Women in 2019 when they made their return to Neighbours. Compared to their 90s fringes, their mid-length hairstyles completely changed how they both looked.
Another picture of the sisters shows them returning to Ramsey Street while wearing stylish outfits and having their dark brunette hair down in natural waves.
Leigh and Luca, a company that sells scarves and has a tonne of famous customers, are co-founded by Gillian. Fans of Gillian’s clothing include Mary Kate Olsen and Hilary Duff.
In a private ceremony in October 2021, she wed David; Gayle’s husband Mark escorted her down the aisle.
