Troy Beckwith, a former co-star of Neighbours, passed away at the age of 48. His former co-star Kym Valentine confirmed the news on Facebook.
Troy played Michael “Sicko Micko” Martin, one of the most enduring villains on the show from 1991 to 1998. Kym broke the bad news in a heartfelt homage.
“Our dear old friend Troy Beckwith has passed away,” she said in a note. “Yet another TV family member lost far too soon. Troy asked for no funeral, so there won’t be one. I’m grateful for all the memories, my cheeky friend, and I send my love to your family and friends.”
Many of Kym’s friends sent their sympathies, with Brett Blewitt, star of Neighbours, among them, saying, “He was such a lovely person.” incredibly perceptive and sympathetic. when he comes out of his shell, cheesy and playful. Far too soon. I adore you, buddy xx.”
“Oh no! To Troy, please… That is really depressing.lovely boy,” a user said.
Selina Laine Bonica, a friend of Troy’s, posted a tribute on her Facebook page.
“On the 24th of January, we lost a star and the heavens gained one,” she stated. Troy, even though you gave me a lot of trouble, I still cherished you.
“I’m just relieved that you’re pain-free. In my priceless memories forever.”
“RIP to my brother from another mother,” said Ricky Fleming, who collaborated with Troy on the children’s programme Pugwell, in a tribute posted on Instagram. No one can ever know the experiences and joy we enjoyed in this world as the mischievous two (tricky and roy), connected at the soul since birth.”
“It’s true that there was never a dull moment when we were together,” he said. May you continue to bring contagious joy to all who are in your presence right now and may you rest in peace. Troy Beckwith, my dearest friend.
Troy faded from public view in recent years; his cause of death is now unknown.
