Lynne McGranger celebrates 37 years with Paul McWaters

Lynne McGranger has been on Home and Away for over three decades, and she’s been in a loving relationship with boyfriend Paul McWaters for the whole time.

The actress is the longest-serving female cast member on the iconic Australian soap, and she is also Paul’s main woman, having been married to him for almost 30 years – 37 to be exact.

On December 4, the pair celebrated their anniversary, with Lynne taking a time to share a few beautiful words from her lover.

“37 years old?!?! What the hell happened there? I adore you, you kooky kooky kooky koo “she said beside a beautiful snapshot of the two together on Instagram.

While their relationship has remained relatively low-key, Lynne explained to New Idea in 2014 how the two met in a romantic – albeit amusing – way.

“In 1984, I invited him over to my house [after we had supper together], and he never returned. It hasn’t happened yet, “During their first joint interview, Lynne cracked a joke.

The couple has been together since then, and despite all of their significant years together, they have no plans to marry.

Lynne stated, “I’m still waiting [for him to propose].”

“We always joke about doing it when we need white goods, but I’m here to tell you that we need a new washing machine right now!”

Lynne has previously credited Paul for assisting her in balancing motherhood and her career. The couple has a 30-year-old daughter together, Clancy McWaters, and Lynne has previously credited Paul for assisting her in balancing motherhood with her career.

“Aside from being a wonderful man, I wouldn’t have been able to do what I’ve done on Home and Away if it hadn’t been for him,” Lynne told Woman’s Day in 2019.

“He became Clancy’s primary caregiver and house spouse,” she explained.

“He’s incredible. We still have fun with one other and make each other laugh.”

The sweet couple bond over their shared passion for sports, and they frequently attend AFL games to support their beloved Sydney Swans.

Paul’s love of technology, on the other hand, is something they don’t share, with Lynne describing her long-term partner as “kind of a computer geek.”

“Which isn’t my cup of tea,” she explained, “but he loves it.”

Lynne hasn’t ruled out marriage, despite the fact that they aren’t married.

“If we do get married, it will most likely be a backyard barbecue,” she said.
