Sophie Dillman, a former Home and Away actor, has shared some unexpected behind-the-scenes information about the adored soap opera.
The 29-year-old blonde who played Ziggy in the six-year-running Channel Seven show claims that many of her former co-stars cover their lips in tattoos and “fake” their kisses.
Sophie added that the creators of the long-running success utilize “TV magic” to make Summer Bay, the show’s setting, appear to be a little town.
Sophie commented on Thursday in Yahoo Lifestyle, “It looks like a quick five-minute walk from the caravan park onto the beach and the Farm Houses are just around the corner.”
The locations of the show’s iconic settings, such as the Farm House, Surf Club, beach, and trailer park, are actually hours apart, Sophie explained.

Much loved by fans for its ‘hot’ scenes of intimate kissing, Sophie says the passion in Home and Away -pictured – is all acting, including supposed ‘French kissing’ scenes
Fans adore it for its ‘hot’ scenes of passionate kissing, but Sophie claims that it’s all acting.
I hate to break it to you, but many of the kisses you see on television aren’t entirely genuine, she remarked.
The majority of performers opt for a “stage kiss” in order to maintain some distance from their co-stars, Sophie said.
If you get my meaning, “basically, the French part of the French kiss is taken out.”
It is a well-known fact that Sophie ‘dated’ the actor Patrick O’Connor who played her on-screen beau Dean while they were dating in real life.
Fortunately, Dean and Ziggy didn’t have to do any acting while filming, she continued.
In the meantime, Sophie praised the cast of Home and Away, especially the make-up artists and the production design team.
Sophie claimed that the make-up artists spend a lot of work concealing the numerous cast members who are severely tattooed, a fact that most fans would never know, in addition to making the actors look “perfect” for their on-set roles.
This year, Patrick and Sophie left Home and Away. Sophie discussed her health struggles with endometriosis in March.

In an Instagram post she was in so much pain recently she couldn’t get up from the floor.
She also acknowledged her appearance can change from day to day because of the bloating and discomfort associated with the condition.
