Following Bruce Murray’s diagnosis of stage four oesophageal cancer, one of their cherished coworkers, the Home and Away community is coming together in support of one of its own.
Bruce has a GoFundMe website where the organisers have shared that the illness has spread to his bloodstream and developed into several malignancies on his bones, including his hips, sacrum, collar bone, and ribs.
Bruce will have chemotherapy and immunotherapy in addition to radiation therapy on his spine, ribs, and hips, which are the three most critical sites.
Offering Bruce and his family “some comfort through these tough roads ahead” was the organisers’ stated goal.
Along with many other anonymous donations and contributions from producers and other Home and Away staff members, former and current stars of Home and Away such as Ada Nicodemou, Matt Little, Georgie Parker, Jessica Tovey, Stephanie Panozzo, Pia Miller, Ethan Browne, Axle Whitehead, and Philippa North-east have all made contributions to the GoFundMe.
“It’s going to be a long journey but we are positive and know our cherished Brucey is a strong one,” the GoFundMe page stated.
As of the publication of this article, the GoFundMe had raised $38,157 of the $50,000 goal.
Bruce has over 20 years of experience in the Australian television industry. He has worked on production for Channel 10’s Breakers, Good News Week, and Above the Law, as well as Channel Seven’s Home and Away and All Saints.
