Sam Frost, a former Bachelorette and Home and Away actress, and her Survivor co-star Jordie Hansen have left the city for a rural retreat in Queensland.
The couple, who just had their first child, Ted, purchased a four-bedroom brick property in the Noosa shire’s lush Doonan for $1.185 million.
The couple examined the property the day before the auction and impulsively decided to place a bid for it the following day, making for a quick and emotional purchase.
The property’s marketer, Lindy McAskill of Ray White Noosa River, claimed that “they just walked in and fell in love with it.”
Frost and Hansen competed against one other bidder until the price was tied at $1.18 million. Sam’s price then increased by $5K, according to Ms. McAskill.
Frost’s Sydney property had sold that morning for $1.59m, which was not as much as she had planned for it to fetch, and the couple almost decided without attending the auction.
Frost originally put her Alexandria townhouse on the market to raise money for the home purchase and to save aside some money for the couple’s now postponed wedding.
“It’s on a raised block and it just has a beautiful entry, up a nice driveway, surrounded by all bushland and natives,” said Ms. McAskill.
“Despite the fact that the house is older, it is in beautiful shape, and they said they wouldn’t change a thing.
They said they could picture the small guy running about on the large grassy yard, and Jordie really liked the wonderful, big man shed up the back.
Both the purchasers and the sellers, who were downsizing after more than 25 years, had emotional days.
When Ms. McAskill understood who her clients were, she acknowledged feeling a little star-struck.
“I knew her name and face sounded familiar,” she remarked. “I was first staring at Jordie when they entered, then she. I said, “Oh, I love Home And Away!” after searching for her on Google.
The substantial brick home has two bathrooms, a sizable open-plan living and dining area, a full-length front verandah, a back terrace, a separate laundry room, and a double lock-up garage. It is situated on nearly 1 hectare of established tropical and native gardens.
A triple carport, solar power, a 9 x 6 sqm shed, and two water tanks are also included.
Eumundi’s ancient township is not far from Doonan, and it takes 20 minutes to get to Noosa’s major beach.
After appearing with Frost’s brother Alex on the reality series Australian Survivor on channel 10, Hansen, a gardener, and Frost later became friends.
After just five months of dating, they were engaged.
The duo will make their television debut again on Seven the following year with the six-part series Jordie, Sam & Ted’s Rural Roadtrip, which will follow them as they tour rural communities in Australia in an RV trailer.
