The newest inhabitants of Neighbours will have to make a major decision next week after their arrival on Ramsay Street is marred by bad news concerning their new neighbour, Hendrix Greyson.
Back in April, police sergeant Andrew Rodwell (Lloyd Will) and his wife Wendy (Candice Leask) expressed interest in purchasing a new home on the street, and this week, they and their teenage daughter Sadie (Emerald Chan) make the big move to Number 26.
The family decides to organise a moving-in barbecue because Sadie’s role in setting the fire at Erinsborough High earlier this year may cause some tension with their new neighbours.
Unfortunately, the meeting does not go according to plan, and the Rodwells are soon left wondering if they should pack up and leave after learning that Hendrix (Ben Turland) is gravely ill, having been diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis.
Hendrix now need a lung transplant to live, and with the fire that Sadie and her friend Aubrey Laing (Etoile Little) have begun to blame for his illness, the Rodwells realise that their presence on the street could be extremely tough for him.
However, the family is unsure if they can afford to relocate again, and they will have to do some soul-searching next week as they consider their options on Ramsay Street.
Karl (Alan Fletcher) and Susan Kennedy (Jackie Woodburne), their new neighbours, sympathise with the Rodwells’ situation and decide to pay them a visit.
Following the Kennedys’ offer of an olive branch, the family decides to stay and work things out with their new neighbours.
Will things turn out well for them, or will they grow to regret their choice?
Ben Turland told Digital Spy that he feels “proud to take on” Hendrix’s emotional story and that “it’s been a fantastic challenge.”
“He can’t really get away from it because Sadie was one of the people who triggered his illness, and she has recently moved next door. It reminds him of his condition and what has happened to him every time he sees them “he stated
