In a new trailer for the soap’s final months, Neighbours teases a mysterious death.
Fans will be aware that the series will be ending in August, though details on how it will do so are still being kept under wraps.
However, a new trailer for the last episodes has been released, with the question “who leaves forever?” Following that, we see footage of a funeral procession with a casket being carried.
While this could be stock material or footage shot specifically for the teaser, it looks to indicate that a death is imminent.
Last week, Neighbours issued the show’s final cast photo, paying respect to the “class of 2022” and reminding us that the end is near.
For the final episodes of the drama, legendary cast members Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan will reprise their roles as Charlene and Scott Robinson, respectively.
Producer Jason Herbison recently acknowledged that convincing the two to join was not tough.
He told Inside Soap, “Both Kylie and Jason needed very little persuasion at all – they both respect the show and the important role it has played in their lives.”
“It’s a great tribute to Neighbours, and I was overjoyed when they agreed. Ending the show without them didn’t feel right.”
He added: “I was there on the day of filming, and it was a very touching event and one that will linger with me well beyond the series concluding in August. I consider myself really fortunate to have been a part of it.”
