Who needs a pleasant toasty, peaceful, family-filled Christmas when Neighbours has murder, devastation, and Sheila Canning going off on one?
Terese (Rebekah Elmaloglou) is facing a lonely Christmas while going through her breakup from Paul (Stefan Dennis) and battling alcoholism at the same time. But, as if that weren’t bad enough, things get even worse when her drinking takes over and she’s left clinging to life by her fingernails. Is Terese doomed to die in a holiday tragedy?
Harlow (Jemma Donovan) isn’t having a good time either, as Roxy (Zima Anderson) discovers about her and she doesn’t seem to be in the mood for a cosy Christmas. After becoming sceptical of her friend, Roxy decides to accompany Harlow on a mystery journey, where she discovers the cause behind Harlow’s sudden personality shift. Is Harlow turning evil because she’s met someone dangerous?
This year, Ned (Ben Hall) and Levi (Richie Morris) are definitely on the naughty list because they can’t seem to get along with Amy (Jacinta Stapleton). They’re fighting for the girl, but who will come out on top and who will be left with a lump of coal?
Kyle’s (Chris Milligan) health is put in jeopardy as he begins organising his wedding, only to have sticky beak Sheila (Colette Mann) get involved. Kyle’s stress levels grow as a result of her involvement. Could she be the cause of her grandson’s death through accident?
As the parental three tries to figure out where they’ll spend Christmas, tensions grow.
Here’s what to expect next in Neighbours:
Ned and Levi are off to battle
It’s been obvious for a time that the trio’s polyamory isn’t working, with both guys want Amy for themselves. Levi and Ned enter into a bidding war over their girlfriend at the Police gala, which attracts Levi’s colleague Reuben’s attention. Reuben reveals himself to be a jerk when he makes a vulgar remark about Amy, and the two boys rush to defend their gal. Unfortunately, their fiery tempers cause them to be ejected from the game, leaving them furious at each other. Levi bears the repercussions at work, which keeps him busy enough that he misses Ned’s power play to win Amy.
Tensions are high in the Tanaka household
The Tanakas aren’t overjoyed about the holidays. The parents can’t decide whether they want to spend Christmas in Adelaide, Sydney, or Erinsborough. The three buttheads can’t seem to come up with a solution, so David decides to fall on his sword and work on something that would help them.
It’s appropriate for everyone. Christmas Day arrives, and the celebrations are boosted when Leo appears with Britney. Everything is well and dandy until they receive some bad news.
Is Harlow turning into his father’s killer?
Harlow is hiding a secret that will soon be revealed, and it will explain why she has been acting oddly for weeks. Her out-of-character behaviour has raised a few eyebrows and prompted anxiety among her friends and family, notably Mackenzie, who is upset that she is losing her closest friend. Roxy decides to get involved and becomes a private eye, following Harlow on her mysterious vacation. Roxy discovers something shocking: Harlow has been seeing her murderous father in jail. This is really horrible news. Is he attempting to brainwash Harlow? Is she turning into her father?
Is it possible for Paul to preserve his marriage?
Terese is on the verge of a nervous breakdown in more ways than one. Her alcoholism has returned with a fury, and her quest for sobriety has fast turned into a losing battle. It’s made worse when she agrees to dance with Paul at the Police Ball, which serves as a vivid reminder of what she’s missing. Terese, who is struggling, slams the bottle in her face, which Glen quickly notices. Later, Paul asks Terese whether she’d be interested in marriage counselling, and Terese unexpectedly says yes. This arrangement does not sit well with Glen. So, what will he do about it?
Kyle’s wedding worries
Kyle wants Roxy to enjoy the time of her life at the Police Ball, but his chemo side effects have other plans, and his food reappears on the dance floor. He’s mortified, as if he’s embarrassed himself and wrecked Roxy’s night in one fell swoop. Roxy reassures him that nothing has been damaged, and that they have the rest of their life to have better evenings. Kyle decides to thank her for her faithfulness by helping her arrange the wedding while she is at work. Sheila is concerned when she sees how hard he works, fearing that his body isn’t strong enough to cope with the stress following the chemo. She drags herself into the planning and assumes control, believing that she is being of great assistance. Instead, as Kyle’s stress levels climb, she is exacerbating the situation. Will her well-intentioned act make him sicker?
Terese perishes in a tragic Christmas event?
Terese does not hold back on Paul at the first therapeutic session. She is so devastated by the session that she lies to her family about where she would spend Christmas, electing to spend it alone, or rather, with a bottle. The Tanaka family’s Christmas is a touch chilly, but when they all stop squabbling for five minutes, they realise Terese’s falsehoods are true. They are alerted, and they race to find Terese. Terese, on the other hand, finds herself in perilous circumstances after she falls from a roof. Will they be able to reach her in time?
Scenes will begin airing on Channel 5 on Monday, December 6th.
