Nat Barr of Sunrise stepped out for television’s night of nights, the TV WEEK Logie Awards, but she received more than she bargained for when she appeared on the red carpet.
When the morning TV personality arrived at the renowned awards ceremony at The Star in Sydney, cast members from Home and Away snatched her up and made an unexpected request.
They required her to participate in a phoney “audition” for the popular Channel 7 soap opera.
Nat was seen giving it her all in a video labelled “Home and Away auditions” as she tried to act out a scenario and deliver a line that might have easily been penned for Lynne McGranger from the hit television show.
“Flippin’ hell girlie, I didn’t come down in the last shower,” you said.
The media star performed the line with great passion, showcasing her acting prowess.
And Nat wasn’t the only celebrity willing to try it.
Then came Matt Shirvington, Nat’s co-host, who screamed into the camera, “You flaming galah, get out of my surf club!”
Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, who had her eyes fixed on the camera the entire time, spoke the exact same line as Nat.
The radio host, who had blonde hair curled over her shoulders, looked stunning in a red strapless dress.
The host of 7NEWS, Michael Usher, followed and debuted a voice that was extremely dissimilar from the one that his audience was accustomed to hearing during his newscast.
AGT and Australian Idol host Ricki-Lee Coulter, The Chase actress Issa Schultz, and SAS Australia’s Ant Middleton could all be seen attempting the lines.
The actual cast of Home and Away won another Logie award at the Logies ceremony, taking home the trophy for Most Popular Drama Series for the second consecutive year.
With nine Logies, Home and Away broke the previous record for the most Logies awarded to a TV series.
Actress Georgie Parker gave the address as the entire group gathered on stage, describing the victory as “pretty amazing”.
There is a lot for you to get involved with when it comes to Australian drama and comedy right now, she said.
“I want to thank TV Week for providing us with this opportunity to honour our business, and I want to thank Channel 7 for its unending passion and support of Australian drama.
“To our devoted team, thank you for making each day worthwhile. Thank you very much to everyone that contributes to the weekly success of this enormous programme!
“Thank you for giving us something to strive so hard for and celebrate tonight, supporters near and far—some of you have been with us for several decades.
We actually take care of this for you.
