Next week on Neighbours, Aaron and Nicolette’s tension increases due to Aaron’s ongoing hatred against Paul.
How emotionally and traumatising these past few weeks have been at Ramsay Street. After being given bail, Eden (Costa D’Angelo) returned to Erinsborough and ran into Paul (Stefan Dennis). Dennis saw an opening to finally separate Krista (Majella Davis) from Leo (Tim Kano) and get Krista out of his hair for ever.
Paul told Eden that Krista was carrying his child and provided him with the address of the vacation house where David (Takaya Honda), Aaron (Matt Wilson), and Nicolette (Hannah Monson) were lounging.
Eden was supposed to confront Krista, Paul’s ex-girlfriend, in the hopes that this would permanently force her to leave Erinsborough.
He was unprepared for Eden to assault Leo, which is why David rushed to assist. Both Eden and David suffered severe injuries when they fell down a steep bank as a result of David pushing Eden away from his brother.
David pushed Aaron to take Eden to the hospital because he didn’t want what happened to Gareth Bareth (Jack Pearson) in 2022 to happen again.
David concealed the truth that he was also suffering from severe internal bleeding while telling his husband he was just hurting little and that Eden was in need of immediate medical attention. David was dead by the time Aaron and Leo came back from taking Eden to the hospital.
Paul has been shunned by his loved ones ever since the truth was revealed at David’s funeral, following Sadie Rodwell’s (Emerald Chan) admission that she had seen Paul and Eden together.
Since then, Terese (Rebekah Elmaloglou), who is aware of how much David’s death will harm him, has been the only person to show any sympathy for him; Aaron and Leo have not wanted to be around him.
In the episodes that air next week, a worried Isla (Hana Abe-Tucker) won’t stop pleading with her grandfather, so Aaron and Nicolette seek guidance from their neighbour and doctor, Remi (Naomi Rukavina).
While Remi reassures them that Isla is okay, she makes the suggestion that it’s possible she became attached to Paul due of her strong David connections.
Seeing an opportunity to cheer Paul up, Chelsea (Viva Bianca) recommends to Aaron and Nicolette that they let Paul see Isla, but Aaron promptly shoots her down. He still has no desire to interact with Paul and fully holds him responsible for David’s passing.
But according to Nicolette, Isla’s feelings come first, and even though it upsets Aaron, going to see her grandfather will help her get through her own loss.
Nicolette finds Aaron’s rejection of the concept hurtful the next day, believing it to be an unfair and inappropriate response. Everyone at No. 24 feels unpleasant and on edge as the already high tensions intensify.
The last straw comes when Jane (Annie Jones) recommends that Nicolette should fix it. Nicolette becomes enraged at her mother for seemingly siding with Aaron against her, not only because of Aaron’s fragile mental state but also because she is already coping with her own bereavement.
When Jane lets her own feelings run wild, things get much worse. Nobody appears to be taking into account how much the awful tension in the house is affecting her as she grieves David’s loss.
After Nicolette finally understands Jane’s perspective, the mother and daughter apologise to one other for not realising how much the other is feeling abandoned.
In order to give Nicolette and Aaron some space and allow the argument to cool down, Jane offers to mediate.
Though Nicolette might have changed, Aaron is still antagonistic. It appears that this will be a challenging and drawn-out journey.
