Tahnee Sims, Johnny Ruffo’s girlfriend, revealed a tragic Christmas Day milestone.
After a protracted fight with brain cancer, Ruffo passed away quietly last month in a Sydney hospital with his family and cherished lover Sims by his side. He was thirty-five.
Sims offered a touching tribute with a straightforward message on Monday after spending her first Christmas without the Home and Away actor.
The dancer posted a picture of the couple from last year’s Christmas festivities on her Instagram Story.
Smiling at Sims’ cheek in the picture, Ruffo was wearing matching holiday pajamas.

Ruffo died Novermber 10 surrounded by his family and long-term partner Sims.
‘It is with a heavy heart that today we had to farewell our beloved Johnny,’ a statement read announcing his death.
‘Surrounded by Tahnee and family, Johnny went peacefully with the support of some incredible Nurses & Doctors.
The star’s family announced on his own Instagram that a memorial ceremony will take place in Perth on November 25.
The statement said, “More details will follow. A memorial service to celebrate John’s incredible life will be held on November 25 in Perth, WA.”
He was a pleasant, gifted, and occasionally mischievous youngster. Johnny had a strong will and was highly determined. He fought valiantly and determinedly through to the very end. A lovely spirit with so much more to offer.
“Johnny, you have our undying love and we will always be grateful for the joy you brought into our lives.” You can relax.
Following a medical visit for excruciating headaches in 2017, Johnny was initially diagnosed with brain cancer.
He had a 7cm brain tumor surgically removed from his frontal lobe in August of that year after being sent for chemotherapy and radiation treatment.
After receiving his first diagnosis in 2017, Johnny experienced months of remission until disclosing in November 2020 that the illness had resurfaced.
He disclosed in August 2022 that his brain cancer was terminal and expressed concern about Tahnee, his partner, handling his loss.
Johnny marked another year of undergoing chemotherapy in December 2022, and revealed he was looking forward to having a break and spending time with family over Christmas.
Johnny began a new round of chemotherapy in March of this year. He shared a picture of himself receiving the treatment in a hospital with his partner Tahnee by his side.
He revealed in a devastating appearance on The Project last year his worries regarding Tahnee’s post-death support.
“You can only imagine how tough it’s been on her,” he said to Carrie Bickmore, the host at the time.
I hate to say it, but I often imagine how difficult it would be for her if something were to happen to me.
I don’t want to think about it, for that reason. I simply feel a little upset about it because I know that something will happen eventually, whether it’s in a month, ten years, or twenty years.
He informed Bickmore that he had already exceeded his anticipated lifespan.
“I’m still fighting, but eventually it will get to me.” still going strong. “After researching my diagnosis and tumor, I found that the typical life expectancy was three years,” he stated.
Johnny, who was born in the Balcatta area of Perth, got his start in show business in 2011 when he made it through the audition process for The X Factor Australia’s third season.
Ruffo was the final competitor ousted from the tournament, which Reece Mastin ultimately won, having been mentored by Guy Sebastian.
After that, Johnny pursued a career in music, putting out a number of successful singles, such as Take It Home and On Top.
However, he is most renowned for playing the beloved Chris Harrington on Home and Away from 2013 to 2016.
In 2020, he also had an appearance on Neighbours, the rival serial opera.
