Following his admission, well-wishers swamped the star’s post with comments, referring to him as a “fighter” and “champion.”
Johnny Ruffo, an X Factor contestant and former Home and Away actor, announced on Instagram that his chemotherapy treatment has been finished for 2022.
He wrote on Facebook, “Another year of chemotherapy finished, it wasn’t easy but I made it through.”
Can’t wait to spend some well-deserved time with my family during the upcoming holiday break.
A picture of Ruffo in the hospital getting treatment while still grinning and giving the thumbs-up was posted along with the article.
Ruffo is battling brain cancer for a second time.
The musician and actor confirmed his fatal diagnosis in August of this year, but he was determined to continue fighting the illness.
Many Christmas greetings and well wishes from his fans and followers reacted to his most recent post.
While good friend and Home and Away castmate Lynne McGranger commented, “Hello darling,” partner Tahnee Sims used four loveheart emojis. Stay healthy and we’ll talk shortly.
“Good on you mate,” Georgie Parker continued. I’m sending you and your family a lot of love this Christmas.
“Good job!
Ada Nicodemou penned: I sincerely hope you enjoy your Christmas.
Colette Mann stated, “You are a warrior,” and Anthony Koutoufides referred to Ruffo as a “champion.”
Additionally, non-celebrity fans contributed by sending encouraging messages.
One follower commented, “If anyone deserves a break it’s you, enjoy the holidays and the fam fam.”
We adore you, Johnny; keep going because you’re such a fighter!
“, added another.
Ruffo stated to 7Entertainment earlier this year that he was looking forward to Christmas because it would be the first time in a long that he would see his brother Michael, who has been living in Ireland.
I haven’t seen my brother in three years, but he’s coming home for Christmas, and I can’t wait to see him, Ruffo said. My brother now lives in Ireland.
Other than his partner Tahnee Sims, Ruffo claimed that his brother was his “closest” confidant.
We are as shrewd as thieves. He is truly my hero and everything to me. And I’m really excited to see him,” he added.
I’m not sure how I’m going to respond, but I can’t wait since he’s everything.
Throughout COVID and his second struggle with cancer, Ruffo discussed the brothers’ long-distance relationship, calling Michael’s physical absence “the most visible impact” of it all.
Ruffo noted that Christmas 2021 was “extremely calm and low-key” in his book No Finish Line.
Sadly, WhatsApp was the only method of communication he had with his brother in Ireland.
Despite the humour, I really miss him since, of all the guys in my life, my brother is the only one who can see me even more clearly than I can.
Ruffo recently expressed his desire to make a cameo appearance on Home and Away.
From 2013 through 2016, Ruffo played Chris Harrington on the Channel 7 programme, for which he was nominated for a Logie Award in 2014 for Most Popular New Talent.
He expressed his desire to return to Home and Away so he could spend more time with McGranger’s character Irene Roberts in an interview with Yahoo Lifestyle.
When asked how he would like to return to Home and Away, Ruffo replied he would love to simply “show up” at the Pier Diner one day.
He instructed them to enter without telling anyone and simply order a coffee.
And Lynne, er, Irene, would say, “CHRIS!”
