Inside Home and Away’s Lynne McGranger’s long relationship with partner Paul away from Irene Roberts role

Fans of Home and Away will recognise Lynne McGranger as the longest-serving female star on an Australian television soap opera.

She joined the Summer Bay programme in 1993, replacing original actress Jacquy Phillips in the role of Irene Roberts.

Away from the camera, Lynne has a lovely family and a long-term relationship with her partner Paul, with whom she had an exceptionally wonderful start when they first met.

How old is Lynne and where is she from?

Lynne is 68 years old, having been born on January 29, 1953. She was born and raised in Paddington, a Sydney neighbourhood.

How did Lynne meet her partner?

Lynne first met Paul at a dinner in 1984, and she asked him back to her house after that. He never left once she made an effect on him, and the couple has been together ever since.

The Home and Away actress revealed that she is still waiting for Paul to propose and that they joked about getting married while they were in need of whitegoods.

In 2014, she said that their washing machine had broken and that it could be time to tie the knot.

If they do get married, she thinks it will be a modest event with a backyard BBQ.

Both of them enjoy sports, thus the pair has a lot in common. The Sydney Swans are their favourite AFL team, and they routinely cheer them on from the stands.

When it comes to technology, though, they are on opposing ends of the spectrum. Lynne claims Paul is a “tech geek,” but she claims it isn’t for her.

Is there a child in the family?

Lynne and Paul do really have a kid together. Clancy, their 30-year-old daughter, is their only child.

Paul took over as the primary caregiver for their daughter and was a househusband, which allowed the actress to continue working on Home and Away.

Lynne described him as a nice man who they still enjoy spending time with after 30 years together.
