Dean Thompson of Home and Away is poised to face a setback in his recovery after a life-changing automobile accident this summer.
Dean (Patrick O’Connor) struggles to come to terms with his restricted mobility after being nearly murdered in a horrible automobile accident in scenes slated to air this week in Australia and next year in the UK.
Dean has been fighting an uphill battle to recuperate from the catastrophic injuries he incurred in the accident in recent weeks, but now he appears to be on the verge of ruining the gains he’s achieved thus far.
As Dean’s health improves, he believes it’s time to start helping others, focusing on Bella Nixon, who has been searching for a purpose as well (via TV Week).
Dean tells Bella that he misses surfing as much as she misses her photography, and that he’d do everything to go back to where he was before the injury.
Dean is encouraged by Bella’s positivity and chooses to follow his own advise when she agrees that it may be time for her to pursue her own goals once more.
Dean attempts standing on his surfboard again later, desperate to move on with his recovery, only to fall in pain.
Is Dean’s fall due to too much, too fast, or has he permanently destroyed his chances of returning to the waves?
