Sam Frost, star of Home and Away, talked about Jasmine Delaney’s recent plot surprise as her world “crumbles.”
This week’s Australian episode features Jasmine, who is thrilled to be carrying Robbo Shaw’s child. However, Tori Morgan (Penny McNamee) worries that Jasmine could be too eager to share the good news.
Before an ultrasound, Jasmine, Tori, and Robbo’s mother Wendy Shaw (Amanda Muggleton) get to know one another at the hospital. When no heartbeat is found, they discover that Jasmine has had a phantom pregnancy.
According to Frost, “Jasmine’s world crumbles,” as TV Week reported. It’s one more setback for her. The only chance she had to keep Robbo alive was this pregnancy. For Jasmine, being pregnant was the brightness in a dark period.”
Tori and Wendy respond to Jasmine’s grief in various ways.
Wendy lashes out at Jasmine despite Tori’s best efforts to console her.
An overly worried Tori makes an unsuccessful attempt to pursue Jasmine as she leaves from the hospital.
After a while, Tori finds Jasmine walking towards the ocean at the beach, and he grabs her before the waves hit.
“Jasmine has to deal with not only grieving the loss of her baby and the future she thought she was going to have, but also grieving Robbo all over again,” Frost stated. “That hits her incredibly hard.”
