Tane’s determination to be a father lands him in trouble.
For Australian-paced episodes of Home and Away, which some UK viewers might prefer to avoid, spoilers are included.
Tane Parata will have to deal with police difficulties in upcoming scenes from Home and Away as he tries to avoid getting close to Maia, the abandoned infant.
In a recent episode, Tane was taken aback to find the baby in a gym bag while strolling along the beach. The personal trainer was resolved to care for the girl until her parents could be found.
Tane’s increasing relationship is thwarted by others around him, though, and in scenes that will run this week in Australia (May for fans in the UK), Tane will be seen risking danger after he can no longer keep his distance.
Tane has submitted an application to take in Maia as an emergency foster child in order to keep her out of the hands of the authorities.

Tane goes to the hospital despite nurse Dana’s advise after hearing that Maia has a fever, only to be met by medical professionals and police who tell him to stay away.
Tane is aware that he has to do as the cops say. But because he is so desperate to be a father, he finds it difficult to avoid the child. Will Tane run into any more problems?
Actor Ethan Browne, who plays Tane, discussed the plot with TV Week. “He feels he’s the only one who really cares for her, and is worried she won’t be put into a loving home.”
“He’s running on instinct, which is to protect Maia and provide a loving and stable home.”

Tane’s attempts to adopt Maia as a foster child are derailed when he is the focus of slanderous rumours that circulate through Summer Bay.
Harper, who is at the hospital, gives Tane a newspaper and apologises for tricking her sister Dana into speaking with a reporter who has since produced an article referring to Tane as obsessed with the child.
Later, when the same journalist returns to the hospital in search of further information, Tane loses his temper and snaps at him.
After that, the journalist departs from the hospital, but not before officially accusing Tane.
