Home and Away star Ray Meagher hints at new Alf storyline for 2023

“I believe individuals my age will find this one relevant,”

Ray Meagher of Home and Away has hinted at a brand-new plot for his character Alf Stewart.

The Australian soap opera star has been a part of the Home and Away cast since the show’s premiere episode in January 1988, making him one of the cast members with the longest tenure.

Meagher has said that he has been thinking of a new Alf narrative for 2023, one that he believes will particularly appeal to the show’s older audience.

The actor revealed to TV Week, “I’ve been talking to our script producer about a prospective Alf storyline — I can’t say much, but it’s different for Home and Away.

“Our typical audience is a little younger, but I think folks my age would find this interesting.”

Meagher, one of the most recognisable characters on the Australian soap opera, has twice been nominated for the Gold Logie Award for Most Popular Personality on Australian Television. She won the prize in 2010. In that category, he was nominated twice last July.

Meagher commented, “I suppose the averages aren’t bad: win one, lose one – I’m very happy with that. The Gold Logie nomination for the second time. “The nomination is good every time.”

Away from “the hectic flurry running up to Christmas,” Meagher continued, he is looking forward to a “break and a recharge” in Queensland for the holidays.

It’s a terrific opportunity to spend time with loved ones, he remarked.
