Matt Evans, who plays Matt in the TV show Home and Away, has spoken up about his love life.
Matt first appeared on the Australian serial as Theo Poulos in September of last year, and the character left a polarising impression on veteran viewers.
After being thrown out of his father’s house for scamming customers at the family’s auto dealership, Theo arrived in Summer Bay seeking assistance from his aunt Leah. Not long after his arrival, he sought to put himself between Ryder and Chloe.
Matt was asked about any real-life romances in the works when sitting down with the Australian Daily Telegraph.
“At the time, there’s nobody on the horizon,” he remarked.
“I create a lot of love songs, which is ironic given that I haven’t had many girlfriends and don’t fall in love readily.”
Matt also discussed his passion for music, going on to say how much it means to him to have his original song featured in forthcoming episodes of The Voice Australia.
“That excites me tremendously because it is so lovely to have both worlds come together,” he remarked. “It’s been difficult to nearly give up music by focusing solely on acting for a while, but it’s fantastic to be able to do both.”
“I went in there with a clean slate and I am learning so much day by day,” he said of his character’s mischief.
“I believe I’ve always been a little bit of a class clown and I’ve always enjoyed impersonations, so it comes naturally to me to leap into a character.”
