This week on Australia’s Home and Away, Vita Nova is aiming for Justin as he rests in his hospital bed; will they be able to kill him?
A few weeks earlier, the apocalyptic group Vita Nova made a comeback when they deceived James Stewart’s character Justin and Ada Nicodemou’s character Leah into believing they had won a two-night luxury getaway.
Since Justin and Leah’s actions put their leader, Margot Dafoe (Mandy McElhinney), in jail, the cult has harboured animosity towards each other.
Driving out of Summer Bay, the two were looking for a beach and some sun. Members of the cult abducted them and took them to an old, deserted warehouse, where they were left for dead.
As the days passed and they recognised the cult members would not be returning for them, the two grew more and more frantic. They were abandoned without food or drink, all the doors were shut, and no one was even aware that they were missing.
In an attempt to reach safety, Justin tried to scale some metal pipes, but the building collapsed on top of him, crushing his chest, rupturing a lung, and causing him to cough up blood.
Thankfully, Leah was able to flee the warehouse thanks to her own endeavour to scale the structure and reach safety.
She eventually located a bystander to sound the alarm after fainting from dehydration and regaining enough stamina to continue going.
Though he was sent to the hospital quickly, Justin’s situation in Northern Districts has deteriorated during the past week.
He showed no signs of recovery; he was in a coma and his heart was failing. Leah was told by Bree (Juliet Godwin) that Justin might not make it and that she should say her goodbyes.
In today’s episode, it felt like the end was near when Justin began to crash. In his dreams, he was at his own burial, where Leah and the other attendees were sitting in quiet while Theo (Matt Evans) played a mournful guitar in front of a church. He attempted to speak with Leah, but as he looked around, he noticed his own coffin.
Leah cried out, “Don’t you dare leave me,” as Justin experienced an arrhythmia.
Mercifully, Justin was roused from his dangerous state by Leah’s remarks, and he awoke in the closing minutes of Monday’s Australian programme.
Unfortunately, Vita Nova will be making further moves later this week, so that’s far from the end of the story.
Prioritising her first, Leah must persuade Justin that her proposal of marriage was sincere.
After he came to from his coma, Justin told Leah he wasn’t going to hold her to the proposal as he knew she had only asked because he was close to death.
He said to her, “I know you only asked me to marry you because I was dying.” “I won’t impose that on you. We can simply put the entire matter out of our minds.
Leah assures him that she meant what she said, but she is offended by the thought.
Leah clarified that she truly meant what she said when she made the proposal and that she was so incredibly anxious for him to live so she could continue to love him.
Fortunately, Justin agrees with her and believes her.
“Yeah, I want to marry you,” he says to her in a sequence that teases future scenes.
Leah smiles and nods with relief, “Yeah, good!”
But if Vita Nova has their way, there will never be a wedding.
Police have been keeping a close eye on Justin’s room, but scenes later this week will expose their lack of diligence.
TV Week claims that during a visit to the hospital, Cash (Nicholas Cartwright) queries Rose (Kirsty Marillier) about the absence of security outside Justin’s room. Concerned for herself, she phones her supervisors to enquire as to why no one is on duty.
Unfortunately for Justin, Jordan (Jack Angwin), one of Vita Nova’s members, overhears Cash and Rose’s chat while he is disguised as a hospital orderly.
He promptly communicates the conversation to his superiors after realising the moment is right to strike.
He informs them, “They haven’t had a cop on the door all afternoon.” “Would you like me to take the lead?”
A new trailer for the upcoming project states, “A faceless killer is about to strike again.”
Jordan then visits Justin while maintaining his typical demeanour to hide his true identity.
With the hospital attendant, Justin feels at ease right away. Later, he tells Leah that she can go home without worrying since “Jordan’s gonna keep an eye on me.”
However, he couldn’t be more mistaken.
Jordan observes from the sidelines, waiting for the situation to calm.
Later, Jordan acts when he sneaks back into Justin’s room at night.
How do you do this? Panicked, Justin asks as the orderly grabs a pillow and gets ready to suffocate him with it!
Relieved that Justin is out of danger, Leah leaves for Northern Districts Hospital early the following morning. She mentions Jordan the “helpful” orderly as she passes Bree, and to her surprise, Bree tells her that no one with that name works at the hospital.
Rose quickly realises what is happening, sets off the alarm, and dashes to Justin’s room, but it’s too late—he’s unconscious and lying on the floor!
“At first, nobody has any suspicions,” Ada Nicodemou tells TV Week. At the last moment, Rose realises her mistake and rushes back to Justin. Jordan attempted to choke him with a cushion!
All of a sudden, there is a rush to discover Justin’s attacker and save him.
Can they make it?
