Home and Away Spoilers – John Palmer suffers a heart attack

The victims of last week’s explosion are still in danger this week on Australia’s Home and Away because John had a heart attack.

When Stunning Organics delivered Marilyn (Emily Symons) another of their enormous brown boxes last week, this time containing something far more harmful than sunscreen and face masks, they went from being a dubious skincare firm to full-fledged attackers.

Maz assumed this box was more of the same because she had grown accustomed to the company’s constant deliveries of boxes filled with cosmetics. However, what was actually inside was considerably worse. There was an unexploded bomb inside!

We wondered who would be holding the box when it detonated as it was soon distributed all throughout Summer Bay.

By hiring John (Shane Withington) to transport all of the boxes, including the mystery new one, to the landfill, Maz had made up her mind to put the entire Stunning Organics affair behind her. A second anonymous threat was subsequently sent to her, this one reading, “YOU HAVE 24 HOURS TO RETRACT YOUR ACCUSATION.”

Before Maz had a chance to intervene, Roo snatched her phone and said, “Stop wasting your time, you don’t scare me,” in response to Marilyn’s request for counsel from Roo (Georgie Parker) and John.

Roo informed her, “They are all bark and no bite. You’ll observe.

But the unknown texter meant business this time. Marilyn immediately received a second text that said, “TOO LATE,” as we watched the bomb remotely detonate and the one-hour countdown start.

When the assailant finally emailed Maz a picture of the box’s contents, it had already been loaded into the back of the van along with John and Roo, who had made the decision to tag along.

Marilyn located Mali (Kyle Shilling), who headed out in pursuit of the vehicle and its occupants after loudly announcing that there was a bomb to a busy diner. Amazingly, this did not cause scared patrons to rush for the beach.

Mali rushed up behind them and came up with them just in time, flashing his lights and honking his horn to get their attention.

Just before the van exploded, Roo and John realised something wasn’t right and leapt out.

Roo was extremely next to the vehicle when it detonated, but John was able to escape to a safer location; he subsequently remarked to Maz and Irene (Lynne McGranger) that “she copped the full force of the blast.”

John was largely unharmed by the explosion except from an abdominal soreness. He demanded that the paramedics concentrate their efforts on Roo, who was in a much worse condition.

John was in excellent spirits despite later scans showing that his pain was caused by internal bleeding, necessitating surgery to correct the damage.

The same couldn’t be said for Roo, though. When Roo realised she couldn’t move her legs, she looked horrified as Bree (Juliet Godwin) ordered an urgent CT scan at Northern Districts Hospital.

Bree learned from the test findings that she had a minor neck disc fracture and would require specialised surgery to fix it and make sure it wasn’t crushing her spinal cord.

Bree could not, however, offer any certainty that she would regain sensation in her legs.

Later, Roo experienced neurogenic shock, a condition in which the heart stops pumping blood adequately, and she quickly lost consciousness.

While Roo was quickly returned to sinus rhythm because to Bree and her team’s rapid action, the incident had left her dependent on a ventilator and unable to breathe on her own.

Alf (Ray Meagher) and Martha (Belinda Giblin) had initially intended to fly from Merimbula back to the bay to be at Martha’s side, but Marilyn called and told them to fly to the city.

TV Week is informed by Emily Symons that Marilyn is regretting what she has caused her pals to go through. “The bomb was supposed to be for her and, if she hadn’t signed up with Stunning Organics, this would never have happened,” she claims.

It’s the last time we’ll see Roo for nearly two months, as her exit to the city coincides with an extended break that Georgie Parker took earlier this year.

In a March interview with Yahoo Lifestyle, Georgie mentioned that she would be performing in the Ensemble Theatre in Kirribilli production of David Williamson’s play Rhinestone Rex and Miss Monica.

According to reports, Georgie took a seven-week hiatus from filming while the show itself ran from April 11 to April 29. It’s anticipated that Georgie and Roo will make a comeback in late July or early August.

The turmoil in Summer Bay continues even after Roo is transported to the city for medical attention.

After having surgery to stop the bleeding in his abdomen, John is recuperating in his hospital bed. The situation appears to be perfect until he attempts to get out of bed.

He suddenly feels lightheaded and grips his chest in discomfort. JP is having a heart attack, poor guy!

Will John be alright as Bree hurries to take action?

John’s life has previously been in dire peril several times.

In 2010, he experienced his first heart attack. After spending the day working on his automobile and complaining to Alf that he was suffering as a result, he was finally driven over the brink by a later fight with Xavier (David Jones-Roberts). He was located by Penn Graham (Christian Clark), who also revived him.

The most recent issue also follows his brain tumour in 2016–2017 and stroke in 2020.

Even if all of this ought to be enough to discourage Maz and Kirby (Angelina Thomson) from seeking retribution, it instead gives them more motivation. Maz meant what she said when she assured Roo that she would receive justice for what they had done to her.

This Thursday, it was revealed that despite a comprehensive investigation, Stunning Organics was not to blame for the occurrence. Maz is shocked—do they really think they can get away with it?

When Kirby conducts her own investigation, she learns that the CEO of Stunning Organics was pushed to resign just weeks before the explosion. She presents Rose (Kirsty Marillier) with her proof, claiming that he set the bomb in retribution.

Rose, however, adamantly instructs Kirby to turn the investigation over to the police. Kirby, though, is angry and lashes out at Rose, complaining that not enough is being done by the police.

Could Rose and Kirby’s friendship disintegrate as a result of the police’s inaction?

And, more importantly, will Stunning Organics come back for more?
