A new cast member has joined Home and Away, and he appears to have some famous ancestors.
Luke Van Os, Chris, Liam, and Luke Hemsworth’s younger cousin, will shortly make his acting debut in the renowned Australian serial.
The 24-year-old actor has already begun filming his parts as newcomer Xander, but fans will have to wait until next year to see him on screen.
Through his father, who is the brother of the Hollywood actors’ mother, Leonie, Van Os is connected to the Hemsworths.
Luke appears to have a nice connection with his cousins, especially Chris, who provided him some great advise before to his audition.
In an interview with Australia’s The Daily Telegraph, Van Os remarked, “I actually zoomed with Chris the night before and we ran [the scene] and sort of just got into a nice mood.”
“His advise was to be polite, put in the effort, and the job doesn’t stop now; in fact, now is the time to work hard,” he continued.
The Thor actor, like his younger cousin, also appeared on Home and Away, where he portrayed Kim Hyde from 2004 to 2007.
Chris travelled to Los Angeles after leaving the long-running drama, where he landed a tiny role in 2009’s Star Trek, and the rest is Marvel history.
He was cast as the Norse deity Thor in Kenneth Branagh’s first Thor film in 2010. Hemsworth has featured in the films Ghostbusters and Men in Black: International, both directed by Paul Feig.
