Here is where you already know Home and Away’s new buff heartthrob Matt Evans from

Another muscular hunk has joined the cast of Home and Away’s lengthy list of attractive actors.

Matt Evans, a 25-year-old Perther, is the newest hottie to be cast on the renowned show.

He may be new to acting, but he’s no stranger to Australian television, having earned his name on The Voice in 2020.

On Delta Goodrem’s side, he made it to the top 20 and gained a lot of admirers in the process.

Now, his new role on the popular serial is expected to catapult him to new heights.

Here’s all we know about Matt and what he’s said about his new breakout role.

What did Matt Evans have to say about his Home and Away role?

Matt talked to The Daily Telegraph exclusively about learning on the job and why he freaked out on his first day on the set of Home and Away.
He told the newspaper, “I went in there with a blank slate and I am learning so much day by day.”

“It’s incredible how much I’ve learned. It’s similar to being paid to go to school. My first day at the studio, I had a bit of a panic attack since there were so many people around and I had no idea what I was doing. I’m just trying to pick up new skills on the job.”

Matt is portraying Theo, a disturbed young man in his twenties who Matt feels isn’t as awful as he looks.

“He’s just having a good time; he acts first and thinks afterwards.”

“He doesn’t think about his decisions and as a result, he frequently finds himself into problems.” When it comes down to it, he has a decent heart,” he added.

When did Matt Evans decide he wanted to be an actor?

Matt attended the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, which also educated Lisa McCune, Lucy Durack, and Hugh Jackman.

He told The Daily Telegraph that he has always enjoyed performing and that he plans to pursue his singing profession further.

“I suppose I’ve always been a little bit of a class clown and I’ve always enjoyed impersonations,” he explained, “so it feels easy for me to leap into a role.”

“I’ve fallen in love with acting and want it to be a permanent part of my life. I’ll never stop making music because it’s something I’ve always done, and I want to do both.”

Matt expressed his desire to thrive in the performing arts from a young age in an interview with The Mud Mag last year.

He said to the newspaper, “When I was younger, I had the impression that my road to achievement would be unique. I felt unique when I discovered the arts. I knew I wanted to go on this adventure.”

Was The Voice’s Matt Evans involved in a cheating scandal?

A few suspected cheating scandals ruined The Voice’s 2020 season, and while Evans wasn’t exactly breaching the rules, it did raise some feathers.

The core of the problem started when his mentor, Delta Goodrem, couldn’t decide between him and Janie Gordon following their Battle round.

Delta couldn’t make up her mind, so she disclosed Matt and Janie would be permitted to perform as a duet following a secret meeting with the show’s executive producer.

“I realise that you’re both separate artists, and I know you have your own lanes,” Delta told Matt and Janie, “but at this point, what I’d want to do is bring you forward as a duet,” Delta said, asking if they’d consider collaborating to go ahead.

Matt and Janie opted to remain on as a team in the end, but viewers were not thrilled with The Voice’s lack of standards.

When Boy George, who was a judge at the time, remarked, “Are there any rules on this show, ever?” he was expressing a similar opinion.

Before earning his part on Home and Away, was Matt Evans friends with any of the cast members?

Matt made friends with Mark Furze during their time on The Voice in 2020, according to the Daily Mail.

From 2004 through 2008, Mark played the unstable Ric Dalby.
