A former Home and Away actor has been charged with a number of violent offences, including a hammer attack.
Felix Dean, 24, a child star who starred as “VJ” on the popular Channel 7 show from 2007 to 2014, is yet to enter a plea to the alleged violent attack on a Surry Hills tobacconist in October.
On Tuesday, his lawyer informed Central Local Court that he had seen the incident’s CCTV tape and wanted to wrap up the case in the coming weeks.
Dean, who had addresses in Redfern and Erskineville, was also charged with two other violent crimes.
Dean is accused of assaulting a police officer in the course of his duties in Paddington on September 18 this year, while allegedly failing to follow Covid-19 guidelines.
He has yet to enter any pleas in this case.
He is also accused of smashing a man’s house glass in Newtown on January 6 this year, and then attacking a second man on the same night with the intent to rob him, for which he already entered guilty pleas.
Dean allegedly entered into the TSG Tobacconist on Elizabeth St at 11 p.m. on October 11 with a 30cm long hammer in hand and assaulted a male employee, according to police.
According to court records, he was equipped with a silver hammer and intended to assault and intimidate the employee.
The employee had minor head injuries and was treated by paramedics on the site.
During the same time period, he was also charged with common assault against another guy.
He also allegedly took a grey iPhone from the tobacconist, according to police.
He was charged with affray, assault causing actual bodily injury, two counts of common assault, shoplifting, armed with intent to conduct an indictable crime, and breach of bail in connection with the incident.
“Doesn’t he have a lot on his plate?” After his proceedings were read in court, Magistrate Margaret Quinn made a comment.
Ada Nicodemou’s TV son, “VJ,” was a programme mainstay.
On December 22, he will appear in court again.
