Lord John Grey is a charismatic and strong aristocrat who subtly controls the fate of others around him in the universe of Outlander.
He had a crucial role in saving Jamie Fraser’s life and assisting him in starting a family. He also quietly and overtly contributed to some of the most significant plotlines in the tale. In the expansive Outlander universe, he is regarded by fans as “one of the most complex and interesting” characters.
Lord John is as enjoyable to portray as you might expect, according to Australian David Berry, who plays him.
David, 39, tells TV WEEK that playing such a beloved and meticulously created character has been an absolute joy. “Following his journey has given me priceless insights into both my own personal development and the profound complexities of life as a whole,” the author writes.
As Lord John and the rest of the Outlander crew encounter one of the most violent periods in modern history, the American Revolution, David alludes that the journey would soon become much more challenging.
One of Lord John’s most difficult tasks, according to David, will be determining if he can continue to be friends with the people he is required to combat.
“This season, we will see Lord John at his worst,” he predicts. He will reach the lowest point possible and receive a kick while there.
It’s a far cry from the Australian dramas like Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, A Place to Call Home, and Home And Away where we first met David.
But at least Summer Bay offered him his first experience working on a globally popular series.
According to David, “Home And Away and Outlander are both global phenomena, and I feel fortunate to be a part of both.” Despite the fact that he played Logan Meyer for 10 episodes of Home And Away in 2012, he said, “I don’t know if anyone remembers me from that show; it seems like a lifetime ago.”
