Tane’s life is on the line as he is taken to the hospital
Tane is working late at the gym when he starts to feel lightheaded. He quickly finds himself on the ground, unable to move. He feebly begs out for aid as a mystery man in a HAZMAT suit looms above him. However, before departing, the creature releases a large container of poisonous chemicals. Later, a HAZMAT team enters the building and discovers Tane comatose on the ground, rushing him to the hospital. Who is after him, and will he be able to escape?
Cash believes Felicity is to blame for the devastation
The vapours flow through the vents in Salt, where guests are attending Martha and Roo’s mental health fundraiser, and Tane isn’t the only one who has been affected by the strange chemical onslaught. When Cash realises what’s going on, he orders everyone to get away from the vents and cover their mouths and noses. Cash is left wondering if his sister may be behind this horrible deed as others start passing out and he realises Tane is in severe condition.
As Martha’s illness worsens, Logan warns Alf to expect the worst
Martha began to feel the effects of the poisonous vapours when they first entered Salt, sitting down because she felt faint and dismissing her symptoms as the result of too much champagne. Alf is worried to discover his wife’s condition fast worsening when Cash realises the reason is far more evil. He is demanding that she be taken to the hospital first on a stretcher and refuses to leave her side. The situation does not improve as the equipment to which Martha is connected begin to beep rapidly, and Alf is whisked out of the room. When Logan appears to talk with him, the news is bleak: Martha’s organs are failing, and Alf should expect the worst…
Chloe has to make a difficult decision concerning her relationship
Chloe and Ryder have formed a great relationship, even going into business together with their Mexican takeout, but when newcomer Theo shows interest in Chloe, the foundations begin to crumble. Insecure, Ryder convinces himself that the two are having an affair — and after questioning her if she slept with Theo in front of his entire family, Chloe makes a final choice. Ryder is taken aback when she tells him they can’t continue their relationship since he doesn’t trust her; how will he react?
During a heated game of pool, Dean gets caught in the crossfire
Theo is up to his old shenanigans, but this time his actions are going to affect a lot of people at once. Following Ryder’s catastrophic birthday celebration, Nikau invites him to his house, where Chloe is preparing a meal for everyone. After what they did on the beach, Theo teases that it will be difficult with Chloe, and Nikau is taken aback to learn they slept together. Nikau informs Bella of the news later at the Surf Club, and she exposes him during a game of pool. Bella storms out, knocking a barely recovered Dean to the ground, leaving him in excruciating pain…
In Felicity’s van, Jasmine discovers incriminating evidence
As the Bay suffers from the chemical assault, all eyes are on Felicity, much to her chagrin. They don’t know who may be behind it, but they do know Felicity and Tane had been having problems lately, and he was the one who took the worst of it — who else could it be? Despite Cash’s reservations about his own sister, Jasmine stands by him, and the two proceed to Felicity’s vehicle with a takeout order. When Jasmine attempts to throw something away, she comes across a receipt for an order of the precise chemicals used in the attack. She presents it to Cash, astonished and appalled… What are they going to do now?
Marilyn passes asleep outside in the middle of the night after losing sensation in her legs
After the chemical attack, the Bay is slowly beginning to recover, and those who have been released from the hospital are attempting to resume their normal lives. Marilyn returns to the Diner, but as she walks home after a shift in the evening, she loses sensation in her legs. Her phone slips from her grasp as she falls to the ground, just out of reach. Will someone discover her before she freezes to death on the floor in the dead of night?
