Next week on Coronation Street, Rick Neelan’s death will be revisited when his daughter Kelly Neelan receives some shocking news.
Viewers are aware that loan shark Rick (Greg Wood) was murdered by Gary Windass (Mikey North) in 2019 when Gary attempted to protect himself, a crime for which Gary has yet to be apprehended. Gary has been protective of Kelly (Millie Gibson) following Rick’s death, but he has continued to lie to her about Rick, saying that he is still alive.
Kelly is currently in prison after being falsely accused of murdering Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni). She is in a difficult condition and even attempted suicide when the judgement was announced in tragic moments.
Following Kelly’s incarceration, Rick’s old pal Sharon Geary (Naomi Cooper-Davis) will return to the cobblestones later this week to reprimand Gary for not adequately caring for Kelly, which has left him shaken.
Sharon visits Kelly in prison the next week, telling her not to worry about money since an anonymous contribution has been made to assist fund her case as she continues to try to establish her innocence.
Kelly’s heart skips a beat, certain that the money came from her father and that this indicates he is still alive. She has no idea that the mysterious contribution was made by a crooked Gary.
Mia, Kelly’s fellow captive, pales when she sees Sharon. Kelly reveals that Sharon works for her father, and Mia is taken aback when she discovers Kelly is Rick Neelan’s daughter.
Kelly confronts Mia and demands to know what her father’s problem is. Kelly is taken aback when Mia says that Rick is the reason she is in prison and that he is also responsible for her mother’s death.
Kelly claims that her father has moved to Spain and that he has paid her legal costs, but Mia is sceptical. She informs Kelly that she believes Rick has been murdered.
Kelly is soon phoning Gary, asking that he see her and tell her the truth about her father.
Will Kelly’s demands force Gary into a corner?
