A new TV station that debuts with vintage episodes of the venerable soap opera on its first day of operation is bringing Home and Away back to its roots.
That’s TV 2, the sister channel of That’s TV, debuted on Wednesday, January 3. It offers a variety of classic television shows, such as the long-running serial drama, which will screen twice a night in its vintage incarnations.
Home and Away debuted in the UK in 1989, one year after it began in Australia. It returned this week with new episodes after a Christmas break.
Now that That’s TV 2 has purchased the original Summer Bay episodes, viewers have the unique chance to relive the show’s origins and see its inception.
“Over the past year That’s TV has reached new heights and we now have a schedule bursting with iconic TV shows from Benidorm to Shameless,” stated Kris Vaiksalu, Head of Programming for That’s TV and That’s TV 2.
We would want to air a lot more classic TV shows, but we just don’t have enough hours in the day.
I then pondered, “What would Einstein do?” We’re thrilled and honoured to be launching That’s TV 2, our second archival TV channel, even though it’s been a lot of work.
Reruns of Baywatch and Prisoner: Cell Block H, which are also available for streaming on My5 from the start, will air on That’s TV.
