Coronation Street scene hints at Chesney Brown’s death?

If there’s one thing we’ve learned about award-winning Coronation Street, it’s that they like teasing us.

They prefer to leave hints, clues, and little sequences in episodes that will have a big impact months later…

Is this anything that happened in tonight’s episode?

Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) was assisting Freda (Ali Briggs) with funeral arrangements tonight, as the spotlight was on Norris Cole’s funeral.

Gemma enjoyed a cup of tea outside the kebab shop where Chesney (Sam Aston) was working, despite being stressed due to Mary’s (Patti Clare) involvement.

Chesney added who he’d like to attend Norris’ burial as the talk about him proceeded.

Yes, that is morbid, to quote Gemma.

Chesney had hoped that Gemma and their children would attend, but the young guy was left alone after Gemma departed.

Chesney seems to want one someone to say the following to him while talking to himself:

‘If I were to describe Chesney in four words, I would say…”he was a nice egg.”

Given that ‘he was a good egg’ is really five words, the focus might be on the comic side of Corrie that we all know and love.

But what if it’s a sign of things to come?

We know that in the fall, there will be some major sequences with Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor) escaping from jail and the sinkhole narrative being revisited…

Is it possible that Chesney may perish in one of these high-octane stunts?

If we’re accurate, we’ll definitely come back to this piece…
