Biography of Kate Ritchie
Katherine Leigh Ritchie is an Australian actress, radio host, and children’s book author. She is best known for her long-running role as Sally Fletcher in the television drama series Home and Away, for which she won two Gold Logie Awards.
She debuted in the 1988 season premiere and played the part for 20 years, up until 2008. Currently, Ritchie can be heard on Nova FM’s Kate, Tim & Joel national drive show with Tim Blackwell and Joel Creasey.
She and fellow original cast members Ray Meagher and Norman Coburn held the Guinness World Records title for the longest continuous role in an Australian drama series prior to leaving Home and Away.
Following a five-year hiatus, Ritchie briefly returned to Home and Away in 2013 to reprise her role as Sally Fletcher in honour of the show’s 25th anniversary.
