When Mike calls, Jane is attempting to mediate a quarrel between her daughter Nicolette Stone and Aaron Brennan, who don’t seem to be aware of her personal sorrow.
In addition, Jane is very busy managing Erinsborough High’s significant transition as it merges with Terese Willis’s new retirement community.
In an attempt to calm Mike, the school headteacher downplays her current issues, although she does say that she is looking forward to seeing him in person when he gets back shortly.
Mike brings the bad news that his managers have requested that he stay on for an additional three months.
Altruistic Although Jane acknowledges that Mike must stay put, it’s unclear if she can bear to be alone for this longer when she hangs up the phone.
Are things getting rough for the couple now that Jane is so mad at Mike for being away?
Guy Pearce last appeared in person in sequences that were filmed in the UK with Jane’s co-star Annie Jones in the early part of October on Neighbours.
Mike has since informed Jane about his present job as a tour guide during sporadic video conversations.
With their well-received scenes in the Neighbours 2022 finale, Mike and Jane’s plot has been furthered by the appearances.
