In upcoming scenes, Xander Delaney from Home and Away will lose his cool due to his friendship with Kate, the widow of his late colleague Jamie.
In an episode that will run in the UK the following week, Xander reaches out to Kate again because he needs to chat after becoming irritated by Mackenzie Booth’s assertion that Kate relies on him too much and that she needs some space.
Although Kate herself says he doesn’t need to keep turning up, Mac, Rose, and others are concerned that he is becoming too engaged in this. Nevertheless, he is adamant about helping his best friend’s widow despite their concerns.
She does, in fact, turn to him after a confrontation with Timothy’s mother.
Bree realises that they are tense and informs Xander that she has been speaking to Mac, who shares their feelings. Angry, Xander lashes at Bree before moving on to Salt and attacking Mac as well.
No one can stop him from supporting Kate, he asserts.
But will he keep having disagreements with people over this, and will his relationship with Kate actually deteriorate to the extent that some fear?
