Home and Away’s James Stewart shares emotional reason behind body transformation

James Stewart of Home and Away has spoken up about the emotional motivation behind his recent physical transformation, explaining why it was so essential to him.

The 47-year-old shocked his fans in April by showing off his 12-kg weight loss with a gym selfie. The actor told 7Life that his daughter Scout inspired him to make a change in his lifestyle.

James admitted that he found himself eating heartier meals all day long during the Covid lockdowns, such as bacon and eggs for breakfast, pasta for lunch, and pizza for evening.

The article quoted him as saying, “Most of it came from the idea that I couldn’t tell Scout what to do, I just had to show her.” Eventually, he made the decision that he had to adapt for Scout.

“I had to start doing it if I was going to say, ‘Watch what you eat, watch what you drink, and try to get outside every day,'” he continued. When the benefits started to materialise, people naturally wanted more of them, which is exactly what happened.

He noted that it was simpler to keep on track when he was around health-conscious cast members of Home and Away like Matt Evans, Ethan Brown, and Ada Nicodemou.

James previously admitted to the Daily Telegraph that the diet was the most difficult aspect of the transition.

The majority of the work is done in the kitchen and at the bar, he said, adding that he went two months without drinking. Because, regardless of the type of exercise, everyone is willing to do a little amount of it. The food is the challenging part.

James revealed on Instagram earlier this year that he was 100 kg and is now 88 kg, adding, “I was slow… wore loose-fitting clothing and wasn’t feeling well… I was most upset by the fact that I couldn’t keep up with my child. she is now struggling to keep up with me (sic)!”

“To all of you trying to get in shape, I’m not going to sugarcoat it,” he concluded. Grab a protein shake and a salad in place of the beer and burgers, then put on your trainers and head to the gym! Sounds easy… I’ve done it twice, yet it’s still among the hardest things I’ve ever done.

James said that while he worked with celebrity trainers the previous time he changed his body, he did it this time on his own.

“Although I am physically fit, my best benefit is mental fitness. I feel confident about myself. A better father, husband, and overall man.
