The former soap star, now 54, can no longer be recognised because she gave up acting to become an accountant.
From 1988 until her character’s death in a boating accident in 1993, Nicolle portrayed Roberta “Bobby” Simpson in Home and Away.
However, Bobby experienced a lot of turmoil before then.
Bobby struggled with teen pregnancy, losing her mother Morag (Cornelia Frances), and homelessness.
In 1995, she briefly returned to Summer Bay as Bobby’s ghost.
Nicolle admitted that, despite her character’s adaptability, she had trouble finding work after leaving the show.
“I’d been on Home and Away for six years and doing a show like that can get stale,” she admitted to Woman’s Day.
And while I was happy with how my career ended, it was harder than I had anticipated to get acting job afterwards.
Nicolle, who is married to real estate agent James Bell, took a job maintaining his accounts while studying for an accounting degree after finding it difficult to land acting gigs.
The mother of grown sons Lincoln and Winston and a former actress continued, “Once you’ve been in the public eye, it’s really hard to get a normal job.”
Norman Coburn, a fellow former Home and Away star who played Bobby Fisher’s father Donald Fisher, has also given up acting.
The 86-year-old actor, who debuted in the soap opera in 1988, was a fan favourite until his departure in 2007.
