Home and Away star Sophie Dillman reveals what the Logies are really like and says Karl Stefanovic and Destiny’s Child star Kelly Rowland both stepped on her dress at the event: ‘I did not remain calm’

In advance of this year’s Logie Awards, former Home and Away star Sophie Dillman described what the ceremony is actually like.

The 30-year-old actress wrote an article for Yahoo! Lifestyle after quitting the serial opera with her co-star and boyfriend Patrick O’Connor to travel together.

The blonde claimed that although the occasion is full of sparkle and glamour, getting ready for TV’s night of nights may be a little stressful.

Sophie said in her essay that several celebrities, including Kelly Rowland, Hamish Blake, and Karl Stefanovic of Nine, repeatedly “stepped on” her dress.

She said that, in response to the wardrobe malfunction, she “did not remain calm.”

For the first time in 37 years, the awards ceremony for this year will take place in Sydney on July 30.

If I were to sum up the experience in three words, they would be sparkly, overpowering, and FUN!, Sophie wrote.

You don’t typically dress in ball gowns, put on the most amazing makeup, wear the most pricey jewels, and sit at tables where Karl Stefanovic, Hamish Blake, Roger Corser, and Kelly Rowland step on your gown (I couldn’t help but lose my cool).

Despite the fact that getting ready with her crew requires a full day, she admitted, she likes the event because it makes her feel confident when she walks the red carpet.

But those nights, my goodness, I never loved myself more. Never before have I felt and looked more gorgeous. I will never forget those times when my creative staff worked like wizards in the past, she remarked.

This year’s speakers include Abbie Chatfield, Alan Fletcher, Celeste Barber, Colin Fassnidge, Emma Hamilton, Grant Denyer, Joel Creasey, Kat Stewart, Kyle Sandilands, Kylie Gillies, Larry Emdur, and Lincoln Younes.

Lynne McGranger, Mark Coles Smith, Marta Dusseldorp, Matt Shirvington, Mick Molloy, Natalie Barr, Osher Günsberg, Poh Ling Yeow, Rodger Corser, Samantha Armytage, Sophie Monk, Stephen Peacocke, and Tony Armstrong from the television series Home and Away will also be there.

For the first time in 37 years, the awards ceremony for this year will take place in Sydney on July 30.

Earlier this year, Sophie and her boyfriend Patrick both quit the popular TV show to go backpacking throughout Europe.

They also intend to remain abroad, with Sophie aiming to launch a theatre career in the UK.
