In a sorrowful statement posted online on Tuesday, Lukas Radovich revealed the heartbreaking news of his father’s tragic passing.
The 28-year-old ex-Home and Away actor posted a lengthy caption on Instagram along with a video of his joyful recollections of his late father.
Before they lost their “Captain,” he claimed, the family was going to fly to Italy for a much-needed vacation and reunion.
The day after the funeral, he wrote, “Yesterday, we said goodbye to our Maximus, and words can not describe the loss.”
“So loved and taken from us too soon.” None of the tales of his heroics from yesterday surprised me. But each revealed something about his personality.
‘Smart, humorous, strong-willed, kind, adventurous, and loving,’ he continued. I still feel and always will feel that affection. It won’t ever go away.
Lukas continued by saying that his father had left him with “a long list of rules for life,” of which he was happy to share three with his audience.
The best wine should be shared, not cellared. Stay enquisitive. And you should never, ever wear thongs on an aircraft, he said.
His former cast members expressed their sorrow in the comments section, with Sophie Dillman writing: “Sending so much love xxx.”
As Lynne McGranger added, “Sending love and strength to you and your family, Lukas,” Emily Weir simply said, “Love you xx.”
Georgie Parker ended by saying, “Beautiful pictures of your dad, Lukas, and I really like the three lessons.” I’ll give you some of that wine.
From 2017 to 2022, Lukas played Ryder Jackson on Home and Away.
