This week on Home and Away in Australia, Felicity decides she’s had enough of playing the victim and goes in pursuit of her assailant. Will it turn out badly?
After having her drink drugged at the Battle of the Bands competition, Felicity (Jacqui Purvis) was subjected to a brutal assault. However, her nightmare has not yet ended as the unidentified attacker still torments her.
After obtaining Flick’s phone number, the assailant emailed her a picture of herself taken while she was unconscious and demanded $1000 in exchange for holding back the release of a violent film of the assault.
Flick informed Tane (Ethan Browne) that they had no choice but to pay it since she didn’t want to engage the police and run the risk of anyone viewing the video, especially her police officer brother Cash (Nicholas Cartwright).
Tane encouraged Flick as she sent the money, even though he warned of the possibility that it might not be the end of it.
It turned out that Flick received a second message requesting $10,000 less than a week later. Flick knew she had to pay them, there was no doubt about it, but there was no way the couple could manage it.
They spent all of the money that Gary (Peter Phelps), Flick’s foster father, gave them on their honeymoon, and neither of their businesses had much extra cash on hand.
Tane eventually persuaded Flick to call their bluff and simply not pay, or at least that’s what he thought he persuaded her to do as she briefly considered stealing from the Salt till. Flick was in despair.
Despite accepting the proposal, Flick immediately called the bank to enquire about a loan, but it soon became clear that no such loan could be approved before the deadline of 9am the next day.
In desperation, Flick then requested a loan from Cash, stating that it was needed to support Lyrik’s album launch party. Though that deception was quickly exposed by a fast conversation with his girlfriend, band member Eden (Stephanie Panozzo), a frantic Flick instead claimed that she had been careless with money in the weeks following her attack and didn’t want Tane to know.
Only 15 minutes before the due date, Flick was relieved when Cash agreed to lend her the money; nevertheless, Cash later acknowledged to Eden that he knew his sister was still deceiving him. He just prayed Flick wasn’t in trouble of any kind.
She believed that sending him the $10,000 would put an end to the situation, but that is far from the case. This week, Tane hears Eden interrogating Felicity about the sizeable loan from her brother, and he is certain of its purpose.
He confronts her on the beach, “We agreed we couldn’t keep paying this scumbag,” he says. He is upset that she gave him more money since he will just be emboldened by it.
Wake up, it’s not going away.
Flick, however, is adamant that she made the correct decision. She tells him, “Tane, it’s over, it’s over.
It doesn’t take long before she receives another SMS from her blackmailer, as expected. He’s increasing his demand once more and now wants $20,000. The video of her assault will go public if she doesn’t pay.
Felicity, who is tired of always feeling like the victim, devises a strategy to take back control: she must find her assailant!
In her response to the text, she explains that she can’t make a bank transfer without her husband being present and requests that a time and location be set for handing over the money.
Her new plan is to simply catch the person as he collects the ‘payment,’ snap a picture of him, and give it to the police. She has no way of coming up with the money in time, but that doesn’t matter.
According to Jacqui Purvis of TV Week, “Flick comes to the conclusion that only she can stop his blackmailing and catch him.”
Also this week, Felicity and Tane attend Lyrik’s album launch party to support their friends, but Flick is only focused on her hazardous scheme.
At the city venue, Justin (James Stewart) encourages the band, warning them not to mess up and pointing out that “there are people coming tonight who can change your lives and take this band to a whole new level.”
Felicity, however, is immobile as her closest pals play the most significant gig of their lives.
The last time she saw Lyrik perform, she was attacked, and the concert brought that memory flooding back to her.
“Get me out of here,” she yells at Tane.
The following day, Felicity executes her strategy as she sets out on her own to confront her assailant.
Felicity is seen carrying a black bag that she stuffs into a wheelie bin before texting the unidentified man to let him know it is ready for him, as seen in a preview for the dramatic episodes, which you can view within the article.
However, it’s stuffed with flyers and shreds of paper rather than the $20,000 her attacker demands.
Returning to her car, she prepares to capture the picture that might provide the police with the crucial proof they need to apprehend him.
In an effort to avoid being seen by the attacker, she slides into her seat.
Will Felicity’s scheme succeed, since the promo depicts her sobbing uncontrollably behind the wheel?
Tane finds a note that reads, “I’m not going to be a victim any more,” on the kitchen table when she awakens that morning at home in Summer Bay. Don’t hate me, please.
Tane worries about the worst because she hasn’t revealed what she has in mind. He quickly seeks out Cash and informs him about Flick’s disappearance.
Will Felicity’s attacker discover her before the pair?
