Justin continues to look for Leah. She’s half done packing a suitcase when he finally gets to her at home.
Leah expresses her genuine feelings when Justin leaves her and Theo alone, saying that they are in danger and that Justin is employed by Vita Nova. Leah attempts a different tactic when Theo tries to step in and calm her down: they ought to call the cops.
Rose tells Theo on the spot at the station that Leah needs to visit a doctor. They decide to include Justin, but when he hurries to be with Leah, her suspicions spiral out of control. She now feels that Rose has also been duped by the cult.
Leah bolts off when Justin steps in, making matters worse. Leah goes back to the Diner and locks herself in as Rose attempts to talk Justin out of pursuing her. In an attempt to talk his partner down, Justin pushes his way in, but when Leah comes at him with a knife, he quickly realises he is in over his head.
At the Surf Club, Roo is thrown into the deep end and finds it difficult to step into John Palmer’s large shoes. Mali offers to help out by throwing his hat in the ring, but Alf quickly gives him the command to march on. Whether his daughter is truly capable of doing this work needs to be directly asked by Alf. He observes that Palmer is being very obstinate about leaving, so who knows how long she will have to stay in the position?
Subsequently, Roo proposes to Alf that they reacquaint John with “The Summer Bay Surf Club Bible,” his ten-year project. In this manner, they can both remind him of his commitment to the Club and perhaps even entice him to return.
