With the chance that her mother Martha will never have the life-saving operation she requires, Roo tries everything she can to guarantee that it occurs. Is she, however, setting herself up for disappointment?
Martha (Belinda Giblin) is told she isn’t well enough to undergo surgery during a visit to the transplant centre in this week’s episode of Home And Away.
Dr. Logan (Harley Bonner) says that her blood pressure is high and that her medicine will need to be increased as her condition worsens.
a tearful Martha blames herself for her predicament, but she accepts her fate. Ray Meagher’s character, Alf, is filled with emotion and tries to conceal it from his wife.
Roo (Georgie Parker), on the other hand, refuses to accept the doctor’s conclusion and does study into cardiac diseases and stress reduction.
Georgie, 57, tells TV WEEK that Roo has only known her mother for a few years.
“Martha reappeared in her life, and Roo had a chance to save her life, but her mother wouldn’t let her, and she was afraid she’d lose her all over again.”
The next morning, Roo delivers her results to Logan, who follows through with a plan that is in line with Roo’s health goals. Alf isn’t certain it’s true, but Martha is eager to give it a shot.
“It’s difficult to talk to Alf about it since he’s so stubborn,” Georgie explains.
Alf returns home to discover Martha, Roo, and Marilyn (Emily Symons) meditating on the couch. And he detects a scent, which reveals itself to be vegetable soup and Buddha bowls.
Despite his reservations, he confesses that he hasn’t seen Martha have so much fun in a long time. Perhaps Roo is correct…
The three goes for a walk the next day, but it’s too much for Martha, who has trouble breathing.
Alf scolds his daughter for putting too much pressure on her mother. Roo is suddenly reminded of her mother’s fragility and her father’s serious concerns.
Mia bids Summer Bay farewell
When Mia makes the difficult decision to leave town, emotions run high in the Parata home.
Mia (Anna Samson) has had a difficult time adjusting to life without her late spouse Ari (Rob Kipa-Williams). Chloe (Sam Barrett), her daughter, chose to stay in Summer Bay, but knows why her mother must leave. “In a lot of ways, Ari was her mother’s soulmate and the glue that held their family together,” Sam tells TV WEEK.
Tane (Ethan Browne) gives Mia a one-way ticket to New Zealand, where his brother was laid to rest, after Chloe encourages her mother to start over.
Before Mia packs her bags and travels to the airport, the family gets together for one more pizza party. Goodbye, Mia!
