Fans of Home and Away were shocked to see child star River Jarvis and his family on Parental Guidance this week.
Alaska, 17, Xion, 13, and River, 8, are all talented performers, and their parents, Sarah and Shane, are referred to as the “Stage Parents” on the show.
In the show, Sarah stunned viewers by announcing that she would force River to take pictures with fans when asked, even if he refused.
She told the cameras, “He gets pulled over on the street a lot, which he doesn’t like, but if there’s any rule that we have it’s being respectful to other people. Because I don’t want to be unpleasant, “I sometimes make him take pictures with people!”
She goes on to say that she “picks on everything they do,” in reference to the performances of the kids, which other parents don’t seem too impressed by.
Larissa, a kind mother, tells Sarah that while she admires her kids’ self-assurance, she doesn’t enjoy the way River is forced to pose for pictures with admirers.

Home and Away fans took to social media after realising River was on the show, with one Twitter user writing, “Pretty sure the boy with long blonde hair played Dean’s son Jai in #homeandaway?”
It was also pointed out in a Facebook group, with another user saying, “I thought I recognised those beautiful blonde curls.”
I [saw] him tonight… recognised him straight away,” a third said.
“He doesn’t look any older, still very cute,” someone else added.
“Not a fan of his parents on this show,” another said. “Especially forcing River to have his photo taken when he doesn’t want to.”
