Ethan Browne, who earned his big break last year when he was hired as Tane Parata on Home and Away, has turned 30.
Ethan’s birthday was assisted by a slew of admirers and other Summer Bay actors who sent him lovely and amusing well wishes.
Matt Evans, who portrays Ada Nicodemou’s on-screen nephew Theo Poulos, posted a video of Ethan playing guitar on Instagram.
“Happy birthday to the big he-man. Definition of the whole package,” Matt playfully captioned the post.
Hilary Middlebrook, Summer Bay’s makeup artist, paid a touching homage to the father-of-one by posting a funny on-set video of him struggling to balance on a foldable chair.
Laura Vazquez, a celebrity hairstylist who also works on the set of Home and Away, shared a touching photo of herself with Ethan, captioning it “Happy birthday Goku, homeboy, ooosh.”
Teresa, Ethan’s sister who resides in New Zealand, wished her brother a happy 30th birthday, writing: “To the bro, a happy birthday. I wish you a fantastic day. xx”
Ethan, who got the part of Tane in the middle of last year, grew up in a tiny village on New Zealand’s east coast, honing his craft with his brother and four sisters.
He was just playing in the backyard at the moment, but it turned into a first step toward acting professionally.
“I’d always enjoyed it when my brothers and I would make small short films, whether it was something we watched on TV or fake battle scenes,” he told TVWEEK.
After high school, Ethan admitted that life got in the way of his boyhood ambitions, and he decided to choose a new route. He moved to Brisbane to further his studies in civil engineering.
But his desire to perform remained, so he chose to pursue the “unattainable dream.”
“Although I didn’t pursue acting for a long time, the idea stayed with me. It was time for me to take a chance and do it. I made the decision to enrol in acting lessons, which brought me to NIDA.”
His detour led him not just to the famous NIDA acting school in Sydney, but also to the Channel Seven studios, where he auditioned for the part of Tane. He got the job right away and graduated soon after.
When questioned how similar he is to his character, Ethan said that he and Tane have a lot in common.
“Like him, I’m a bit cheeky, but I’m more responsible. However, we’re both family-oriented people who like spending time with our siblings “he stated
The fact that the New Zealand native had a 13-year-old daughter called Aaylah may have shocked many.
When Ethan greeted Aaylah, he was just 16 years old, and he regarded it as a “dramatic turning moment” in his life.
