James Stewart, star of Home and Away, is headed from Summer Bay to the dance floor after agreeing to participate in a significant Australian reality TV programme.
The actor, who plays Justin Morgan in the soap opera, has announced that he will be competing in Dancing With The Stars Australia’s 2024 season, which is scheduled to premiere on network Seven shortly.
TV Week revealed the complete lineup of the game, which has 12 celebrity candidates including chefs, TV presenters, and athletes vying for the famous Mirror Ball trophy. Stewart will be one of them.
By posting a press photo of the 2024 cast and announcing that he will be competing against professional dancer Jorja Rae Freeman, Stewart has verified the news on his personal Instagram account.
“So, this is actually occurring! Now that the secret is out, I’m circling the @DancingAU dance floor! I can’t wait to show you the amazing routines that my dancing partner @jorjarae_ has taught me under her tutelage.” He penned.
Following the news, Georgie Parker, who plays Roo Stewart, wrote, “Oh YAY darling,” and Ditch Davey, who portrayed Christian Green, wrote, “Awesome!!” in encouraging words for the actor.
It is unknown if the actor will balance his training schedule with his work on the soap opera, or if he will take a break from filming to appear in the show.
He will be vying to become the most recent star from Home and Away to win; previous winners include Johnny Ruffo (Chris Harrington), Bec Hewitt (Haley Smith), and Luke Jacobz (Angelo Rosetta).
Stewart’s co-star and 2005 winner Ada Nicodemou (Leah Patterson) is one person he could be especially eager to consult for assistance.
