PIPPA Ross is most known for playing a recurring role on the television show Home and Away.
She was a part of many dramatic plotlines, but what became of her?
In Home and Away, who played Pippa Ross?
In Home and Away, Pippa is referred to as Bert and Coral King’s daughter.
After marrying Tom Fletcher, an army friend of her brother Danny, they fostered Frank Morgan in 1978 after his parents Les were unable to care for him.
They kept bringing in additional kids from different households and institutions as time went on.
For a long period, Pippa and Tom’s marriage experienced ups and downs, including rumours of extramarital affairs.
Nevertheless, they were able to solve the problem up to Tom’s sudden death from a heart attack in April 1990.
In Home and Away, what happened to Pippa and Michael?
Michael Ross relocated to Summer Bay in October 1990 and rented a caravan from Pippa in the Caravan Park.
They became an item after she originally felt bad about her attraction to Michael and her guilt over breaking up with Tom.
In April 1991, they were married, and Michael’s adolescent son Haydn joined the household.
Together, the new couple continued to foster kids.
But after that, their marriage appeared to suffer as they encountered numerous challenges.
After having a kid named Dale, Pippa and Michael had him die from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome two months later.
When Haydn cheated them off and left them with a large debt, their financial problems only grew worse.
Michael briefly moved out of their home at the end of 1994, almost causing their relationship to fail.
They were able to resolve their issues and reconcile, though, with the aid of some marriage counselling.
However, this was short-lived because in April 1996, while trying to save Sam who had fallen into a highly flooded river, Michael drowned.
Why did the original Pippa actress leave Home and Away?
Pippa was originally played by actress Vanessa Downing, who made her acting debut in the pilot episode that aired on January 17, 1988.
She eventually resigned, though, when Debra Lawrance took over the part in 1990.
It is unknown why Downing chose to leave the position.
