When the authorities are unable to find any evidence of a connection to Andrew’s mother, the search for his family continues, and Justin’s concern for the boy grows.
Theo maintains it a secret that he has posted on social media in an effort to find Andrew’s mother, while Cash cautions Justin about approaching the deadly cult Vita Nova.
Theo eventually tells Cash the truth about his social media profile.
In the station, Cash issues a warning that, despite Theo’s objections, they must involve Justin in the investigation because Vita Nova are probably aware of the page.
Soon after, Esther Lawrence, a lady claiming to be Andrew’s mother, shows up at the station.
Esther is thrilled to see Andrew again, but the overstimulated teenager ends up storming off.
Leah offers Esther some sympathetic ear during her protracted hunt for her lost kid, while Justin offers a scared Andrew advice about getting back together with his mother.
Esther joins the family for supper after Justin persuades Andrew to return home, but tensions between the youngster and his estranged mother persist.
But the next morning, Andrew has a sudden change of heart and informs Justin that he wants to move in with his mother.
As Andrew departs Summer Bay with Esther, Leah and Justin say a tearful goodbye to him.
Cash is happy to be spending time alone with Eden after being worn out from handling the Andrew case.
When Cash eventually makes it back to the office, he is startled to learn that the woman they sent Andrew home with is not his mother.
In another place, Roo tells Marilyn that a reporter is interested in writing about her battle with Stunning Organics.
A concerned Marilyn confides in Alf and Roo that some of the comments on her brand ambassador page have not been favourable despite the positive article that has been written about her.
A sombre message informs Marilyn that she and her pals should “watch their backs” despite Roo’s best efforts to cheer her up and her suggestion that she take a break from social media.
After receiving the ominous message, Roo is alarmed and demands that Marilyn call the police and that the two keep the threat a secret from Alf.
Later, when Rose summons her into the station, she informs a terrified Marilyn that the caller ID had been altered with, indicating that the person making the threats had gone to considerable lengths to conceal their identity.
Following the threat against her, Marilyn tries to persuade Alf to leave Summer Bay earlier than planned because she believes it will keep him safe.
Marilyn afterwards feels as though someone is following her as she closes the diner.
Tane, who is across the Bay, becomes suspicious when Kahu doesn’t show up for work.
Later, he is furious to discover that Kahu has removed all of his things, and he gets a call informing him of shady charges made on the business card, including a houseboat rental.
Tane confronts his cousin Kahu about his most recent dishonesty after tracking him down to the houseboat he leased using the Gym’s credit card.
Kahu confides in Tane that he is too humiliated to tell her the truth because his mother took out a loan on her home to aid him.
