Debra Lawrence and Dennis Coard, who starred in the TV show Home and Away, recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary.
Debra, 65, commemorated the anniversary by posting a throwback selfie with her husband from 2020.
She wrote a detailed ode to the day that set the tone for the rest of their life with the charming photo.
“This wonderful man and I were married in Avalon 30 years ago today (on February 29th),” she said.
“Between Part One and Part Two of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in 2020 – our official (7th 😉) anniversary date – we had a lovely celebratory supper at @theeuropeanmelbourne. My thankfulness is limitless.”
“Dennis is the nicest, most generous person I know… a truly amazing father… add hardworking, supportive, hysterically witty, and highly gorgeous to the mix, and it’s easy to see how we’ve managed to travel through the last three decades together.”
She ended her message by saying, “Dennis, I wish you a happy anniversary. Much love and gratitude for consenting to be the father of our two lovely children, 😊❤️❤️❤️❤️ @coardelette @will coard.”
Debra, who played Pippa Ross on Home and Away from 1990 to 1998, received a flood of letters from fans wishing her a happy 30th wedding anniversary.
As one person put it, “”Love, hugs, and congratulations to you two… ❤️❤️,” one person said, while another added, “Leap year February 29th wedding. How fantastic 👌”
The couple met on the set of Home and Away, where Dennis played Michael Ross, Pippa’s second husband, and their relationship flourished. In 2011, they told Woman’s Day how the soap changed their lives.
Debra, who met Dennis when he initially screen-tested for the role of Michael, remarked, “Home And Away gave me my life.”
“I don’t think I would have had children if I didn’t have a stable work. Dennis and I have two wonderful children, and he is a fantastic parent.”
“I met Dennis at the exact moment my ovaries screamed, ‘Hello!'” she told the publication.
“I must have caught a whiff of his testosterone. I flirted with him and there was chemistry, but then I was disrespectful to him for the next six weeks. I suppose I was putting him to the test.”
