According to The Sun, the long-running soap’s writers and producers are looking for a memorable finale send-off from the pop sensation.
The show is rumoured to be coming to an end when Channel 5 announced it would not renew it. This means Freemantle will have to find a new broadcast partner, which doesn’t bode well for the show’s future.
Naturally, rumours about how the programme might finish are already circulating — and, of course, everyone wants their favourite characters to return! People want Guy Pearce, but it’s Kylie Minogue who would generate the most buzz.
After all, she’s now an international pop sensation, and it’d be un-Australian not to recall the days when Minogue controlled Ramsay St!
Minogue portrayed Charlene Mitchen on the show from 1986 to 1988, and her wedding on the show drew over 19 million viewers in the UK.
Minogue’s musical career was launched on the back of Neighbours, with classics like All The Lovers and Can’t Get You Out Of My Head – both fantastic bangers.
Fingers crossed that Minogue blesses Ramsay St once more.
