Home and Away and Neighbours, two iconic Australian soaps, have long been a breeding ground for great talent, with Kylie Minogue, Chris Hemsworth, Isabel Lucas, and Melissa George all beginning their careers on one of these series.
However, several Australian performers have managed to appear in both Neighbours’ Erinsborough and Home and Away’s Summer Bay throughout the years.

Harley Bonner
From 2013 until 2016, Harley Bonner played Josh Willis on Neighbours, the sitcom that made his mother Carla Bonner famous. Fans cheered when it was revealed in 2021 that the actor would be joining Home and Away.
JR Reyne
Think JR Reyne, the newest cast member of Home and Away, looks familiar? You may now quit scratching your brain over where you’ve seen him before! From 2002 to 2004, JR portrayed Taj Coppin on Neighbours, where he was a notable love interest for Delta Goodrem’s character Nina Tucker.
Johnny Ruffo
When Johnny Ruffo made his film debut as Chris Harrington in 2013, he quickly established himself as Summer Bay’s resident loveable larrikin. Three years later, he said his farewell to the Bay, but not to television in general…
Johnny will appear as a guest star on Neighbours in June 2020, according to Ten. He stated of recording his parts at the time, “You can’t fool about.” “[Neighbours and Home and Away] are basically Australian royalty. It was a once-in-a-lifetime chance, and I now feel myself fortunate to have been invited to both exhibits.”
Guy Pearce
Guy Pearce is one of the most well-known faces to frequent both the sandy sands of Summer Bay and the Ramsay Street cul de sac. Guy initially appeared in Neighbours in 1986 as Mike Young. Mike’s buddies were Scott Robinson (Jason Donovan) and Charlene Mitchell (Kylie Minogue). Guy starred as David Croft in the 1991 television series Home And Away. Guy was on-screen for around six weeks and had a romance with Sophie, played by Rebekah Elmalogou.
Andrew Morley
Andrew joined the Summer Bay inhabitants as Spencer Harrington in 2013 and lasted for two years before departing. After an event that damaged his memory, the actor returned to Neighbours in April 2016 as ‘John Doe.’ Andrew’s character Jack realised he was a priest after finding his identity.
Kip Gamblin
Kip Gamblin won the TV WEEK Logie Award for Most Popular New Talent in 2004 for his role as Scott Hunter on Home and Away for nearly three years till 2005. In Neighbours, the actor played Brad Willis, a father-of-five, on Ramsay Street.
Rebekah Elmaloglou
Rebekah Elmaloglou portrays Terese, Brad’s (Kip Gamblin) ex-wife in Neighbours. Rebekah is best known to soap fans for her role as Sophie Simpson, an adolescent tearaway on Home And Away. From 1990 to 1993, and again from 2002 to 2005, she was a regular on H&A.
Bernard Curry
Bernard Curry portrayed Luke Handley in the 1995 television series Neighbours. While on Ramsay Street, Luke had a brief romance with Libby Kennedy (Kym Valentine)! Bernard joined the cast of Home And Away as Hugo Austin in 2009, more than a decade later, and captured Martha’s heart (Jodi Gordon).
Jodi Gordon
On Home and Away, Jodi Gordon played Martha, a Summer Bay resident and adored grandaughter of Alf (Ray Meagher), for five years. Martha and Hugo departed the bay in 2010. Jodi then went on to portray Elly Conway on Neighbours, which she joined in 2016. Her character marries Mark Brennan in one of her most famous stories (Scott McGregor).
Ashleigh Brewer
From 2009 until 2014, Ashleigh played Kate Ramsay until she was killed off. Shortly after accepting her boyfriend Mark’s proposal, Kate was shot. Yes, this is the same Mark as the one stated above – he just can’t seem to get a break! Ash came home to join Home And Away in 2018 after a stay on The Bold and the Beautiful in the United States. Colby’s love interest, Chelsea, was played by her (Tim Franklin)
Bobby Morley
Bobby Morley was cast on Home And Away in 2006. He was nominated for the TV WEEK Most Popular New Male Talent Award for his portrayal of Summer Bay adolescent Drew Curtis. Bobby was cast as Aidan Foster in Neighbours in 2011 and lasted for two years in the role.
Rhiannon Fish
Rhiannon Fish had a tiny role as Lisa Jeffries in Neighbours before her Summer Bay days. During her tenure on Home And Away, Rhiannon became a household name. April Scott was played by the actress for three years, until she left in 2013.
Lincoln Lewis
Lincoln appeared in a minor guest appearance on Neighbours in 2011 as a Queensland marine researcher who swept Kate (Ashleigh Brewer) off her feet while on vacation. When he was cast as Geoff Campbell on Home and Away in 2007, the actor established a name for himself on the small screen.
Christie Hayes
Christie appeared on TV as Kirsty Sutherland from 2000 to 2005, and then again from 2008 to 2009. She was well-known for her role in one of the most contentious stories, in which she deliberately began a relationship with Kane, a guy who had sexually abused her sister.
According to rumours, Christie was cast in a new role on Neighbours in 2019.
“I’ve always depicted a little bit wicked girls,” she added. “She comes in hot, and there’s going to be a lot of drama ahead, but it all stems from a place of love.”
Jackson Gallagher
From 2013 through 2016, Jackson Gallagher starred as troubled adolescent Josh Barrett on Home and Away. In the 2015 season finale, Josh shot and killed Charlotte King (Erika Heynatz) before fleeing town to escape serving 20 years in jail.
Later, Jackson went to Ramsay Street to portray a love interest for Bea (Bonnie Anderson), who was involved in a love triangle with Levi (Richie Morris).
Isabella Giovinazzo
The announcement of Ramsay Street’s newest resident was revealed on the Neighbours Instagram page, which said Isabella Giovinazzo will be joining the programme as Felicity Higgins, a character.
The announcements stated, “We’re so happy to announce that the incredibly brilliant Isabella Giovinazzo will be visiting Erinsborough shortly!”
